Minecraft players are now getting more control over how their avatar looks. The most recent beta build features the option to create a character that will allow you to modify the body shape and hairstyle, skin tone and color of eyes, facial hair and. You'll be able pick from more than 100 items for free and other items created by the Minecraft team are available for purchase.
The beta is only available through Xbox One, Windows 10 and Android for now. After the beta is over, it will be available in Minecraft Earth and Bedrock versions along with iOS and Nintendo Switch. You'll still be able to make custom skins for Windows 10 and mobile.

The option to customize your character is a great addition to the game. It follows a long line (such as many RPGs) which allows players to customize their characters in any way they want. Other games, such as Fortnite, offer custom items for characters to purchase. While Minecraft has had a marketplace to sell community-created textures and skins for a few years, it's still interesting to see developers selling their own virtual items.
