Judith BeaverWalk around the Alamo.
Go up in the Hemisfair Tower--Tower of the Americas. They now have a new restaurant at the top. (You don't have to buy a ticket if you are going to the restaurant).
Shop at El Mercado for Mexican imports.
Ride the tourboats along the Riverwalk.
Walk around the shops at La Villita just above the Riverwalk.
Visit the Institute of Texan Cultures (behind the convention center).
Things to do farther away:
Visit the McNay art museum. Beautiful mediterranean building, now art museum; much impressionist art and Spanish art.
Visit the San Antonio Art institute in an old brewery building.
Visit the Zoo which is in an old rock quarry.
Visit the Botanical gardens and eat a botanical sandwich in their cafe. -
