Maciej SzczytowskiNotice the 08:06:00 that we just created cramped in-between the other two. That’s the situation when a second developer’s migration comes in from the repository and it is older than your local most recent one. Rails 2.1 will understand that it was skipped and needs to be executed, so it will try it out. This is gonna be a life saver for many teams and one less reason for stress and maintenance as it ‘just works’.
Of course this is not a perfect solution. Many things can happen but you will probably have them under control:
* 2 developers could, theoretically, create 2 migrations at the exactly same second of the day! It is almost impossible but it’s not zero. -
