vroethlerI chose this website because it is a timeline for historical events which I think is beneficial because any paper copies or a timeline are hard to find. I would use this in my future classroom by coordinating the topic with students history/social studies class by getting students to complete missing blanks in the timeline such as certain dates, events, and people in order to help the students study for their other class.

ji0714602This website is a "one stop shop" for all things American history. It is very organized and full of links that can be used by students. Timelines, topics, resources, eras and references are all apart of the website. Every kind of resource and topic that you can think of underneath the "history umbrella" is present on the website. I like it because it is easy to navigate and understand. I would trust that my students could understand how to use it without much direction

Connor TravisThis is a great website for history teachers. This is a multimedia site that offers and interactive timeline. The timeline is from the start of American history and contains 4 categories (MEDIA, DOCUMENTS, TEXTBOOK, AND TEACHING). This easily allows teachers to pinpoint a certain time period and pick from those four categories to find teaching tools.

I chose this site because it has an extremely wide variety of resources that cover the breadth of American history. The area I would use with students in a classroom setting is call "eXplorations". It has a variety of activities that are accessible by students with a wide range of learning styles. There is one activity called "Children of the Civil War.I" It is an activity that can be used to teach history at a different level than students have become used to. When presented history from the point of view of people that were their own age at the time of the historical event, gives students a sense of perspective that they often do not get. It gives history more of a real feeling to them.
This resource clearly aligns with the needs of the learning environment by providing students who do not normally have an affinity for history may be drawn into a deeper understanding by presenting history to them in a variety of media and in a number of interactive fashions.
