The bottom line is that it's a great idea to have some laws that would prevent companies from asking me for more information than they strictly need to do what I need them to do: An retailer doesn't need to verify my real name, email address, or personal address. As long as I pay them, they can ship the goods to wherever I ask them to. Speaking of that, what's up with these brick-and-mortar stores that want my address when I'm just trying to buy a 10-cent transistor (I'm looking at you Radio Shack)?
