nlinn999The National Center for Learning Disabilities –" the leading online resource for parents and educators on learning disabilities and related disorders". This website describes types of learning disabilities, ADHD, Autism, Giftedness, and Visual Processing Disorders. It is also a great resource for parents and teachers alike. Under the parent section there is information about child's rights, bullying, warning signs and evaluation, and much more. For teachers there are resources regarding RTI, accommodations, and assistive technology, among others. There is also information about IEPs and 504 plans, including a guide for parents and educators. As an educator, I can use this resource to inquire about accommodations and assistive technology that I can use with my students. There are specific accommodations and strategies for different types of disabilities. Math, reading, and writing are the top curricular areas addressed on this website, but the strategies and accommodations provided can be used across all curricular areas.

Kelsey HeuvelmanThis is a great site for both educators as well as parents. You are able to navigate through this site and learn more about learning disabilities and how to manage them. There is a section that goes over several LD, and what they are exactly, resources for parents of children with LD, resources for adults with LD, and there is information for teachers who teach children with LD as well. There are suggestions for accommodations, assistive technology and more. This is a great overall site dedicated to the most prevalent disability we see in schools: Leaning Disabilities.

Jessica KapanowskiOn this site, I found this one very interesting. This site is based off for children or adults that have a learning disability. NCLD is an abbreviation for National Center for Learning Disabilities. It gives different subtopics for you to browse and learn about. They have a tab for different types of learning disabilities. They have a tab for parents who have a child with a disability. When children are at school or dealing with school related issues. It also gives a tab for adults that are struggling or have a learning disability. I liked this site a lot. I found it rather interesting.
