The app offers a way to organize your images either into categories, or to add colored tags to them. It comes with a built in file browser that keeps track of file locations, and a color enhancer that allows you to adjust brightness, contrast, gamma, hue, saturation, lightness and to increase red, green and blue color levels. The app allows you to save a set of presets, and reuse them on an image.

An SmetsXnView is een afbeeldingenbrowser, een programma om snel afbeeldingen te bekijken, te benoemen, te wissen, te sorteren en te roteren.
Maar daarnaast kan je het ook gebruiken voor een diavoorstelling met effecten, webpagina’s te creëren of schermafdrukken te nemen. Met dit programma klik je een map met foto’s aan (add folder), stel je de opties in (bv. all transition effects). Een diavoorstelling met wisselende overgangseffecten start vanzelf. Je kan zo’n diashow ook op een CD branden.
Andere mogelijkheden: een reeks foto’s omzetten in een webpagina, schermafdrukken maken en in een map plaatsen, een hele reeks foto’s in één keer een nieuwe naam geven, rode ogen wegwerken, afbeeldingen bijsnijden, converteren van JPG naar BMP, PNG, GIF, TIF,… Afbeeldingen bekijken kan in XP, maar op oudere computers echter heb je veel baat bij het installeren van een afbeeldingenbrowser. -
