FileZilla is an excellent GPL cross-platform FTP Client and Windows-only FTP server. Deffinitely my FTP client of choice.

One of the all around best media players for windows, foobar2000 is also FREE, and supports more formats than you can shake a stick at. Foobar2000 also has tons of plugins which let you do things you never imagined possible, from complete makeovers of the UI to clever digital effects, etc.
