AidSpring Brings Joy to 20,000 Children
with Eid al-Fitr Gifts and Celebrations
TALLINN, ESTONIA — April 2025

Every Child Deserves to Celebrate
Eid al-Fitr is a time of joy, celebration, and togetherness for Muslim communities around the world. For children, it is especially magical—a day of new clothes, sweets, gifts, and family gatherings. But for thousands of children living in poverty, displacement, or orphanhood, Eid can be a painful reminder of what they have lost.
AidSpring Foundation is determined to change that. During Eid al-Fitr 2025, the foundation distributed gift packages to over 20,000 children across eight countries, bringing smiles, laughter, and a sense of belonging to young people who might otherwise have spent the holiday in sadness.

What’s Inside an Eid Gift Package
Each Eid gift package is thoughtfully assembled to bring maximum joy to its young recipient. Packages typically include new clothing—a tradition during Eid—along with toys, sweets, coloring books, and a personal greeting card. For older children, packages may include books, stationery, or small electronic items.
The packages are age-appropriate and gender-sensitive, with different contents for younger children, older boys, and older girls. Every package is wrapped in colorful, festive paper, because AidSpring believes that the experience of receiving a wrapped gift is just as important as the gift itself.
Community Eid Events
In addition to individual gift distribution, AidSpring organized over 50 community Eid celebration events across its program countries. These events featured games, performances, face painting, balloon art, and communal meals—all designed to create an atmosphere of joy and normalcy for children who have experienced far too much hardship.
For many children in displacement camps and conflict-affected communities, AidSpring’s Eid events are the only organized celebration they experience. Volunteer teams work for weeks in advance to plan and prepare each event, ensuring that every detail contributes to a memorable and uplifting experience.

“When I saw the children’s faces light up as they opened their gifts, I knew why we do this work. Every smile is a small victory over the darkness that surrounds these kids.”
— AidSpring Volunteer, Eid Event Coordinator
The Power of Joy
AidSpring’s Eid programs are about more than gifts and parties—they are about emotional healing. Research consistently shows that positive experiences, celebrations, and moments of joy play a crucial role in children’s psychological recovery from trauma. By creating these moments, AidSpring helps children rebuild their sense of safety, self-worth, and hope for the future.
