Most people only think about Santa Claus in December. But Santa is busy all twelve months of the year. Let's take a month-by-month look at what goes on at the North Pole from January through December.
After Christmas, Santa and Mrs. Claus take a quiet vacation. They read books, take long walks in the snow, and enjoy the peaceful North Pole winter. The elves rest too. By February, Santa begins reviewing letters from the previous year and making notes about what children enjoyed most.
Spring at the North Pole means new toy designs. The elves sketch ideas for the coming year's gifts. Santa consults with the lead elves about trends and suggestions. New materials are ordered and the workshop begins to stir back to life.
By late spring, every workbench in the workshop is occupied. Elves build and build. The smell of fresh wood, new paint, and baking cookies fills the air. Mrs. Claus tends her garden in the brief Arctic summer, growing herbs and vegetables to supplement the kitchen supplies.
Summer is the most productive time of year at the North Pole. The midnight sun means extra hours of light and energy. The workshop hums around the clock. Half the year's gifts are typically finished by August.
Autumn is when Santa turns his attention to the Naughty and Nice List. He updates it, reviews it, and checks it twice. The elves focus on personalizing gifts based on each child's letter.
November is all final preparations. By December 1st, the North Pole is in full Christmas mode — lights, music, excitement, and the countdown to Christmas Eve. December 24th is the biggest day of all.
