Rate this book Clear rating 1 of 5 stars2 of 5 stars3 of 5 stars4 of 5 stars5 of 5 stars But I couldn't just walk awayI thought about it off and on for days after finishingIn the end, you really saw it coming, but you didn't, because most if not all of us reads the first sentence of a novel wishy-washily because we're too impatient and we want to start diving straight into the booklike a good bath is good, and a good showerThey show up more frequently as the novel comes closer to its conclusion and, I admit, I would have liked a few more of these present-day chapters throughout the bookIt's told in two perspectives: One perspective is from the main character during World War Two, while the other perspective is about the girl who is discovering how she's connected to the main character during World War TwoIts a human drama set into motion by events taking place during the great war, which are often overlooked for bigger, Hollywood-depicted, epic war films
