Short, but meaningfulEffective ideas are simple, theyre unexpected, theyre concrete, theyre credible, theyre emotional, and many come in the form of storiesAnd there is a hell of a difference between those two.Like a good self-help book there is even a crappy acronym, which in this case is SUCCES: Simple find the core of any idea Unexpected grab people's attention by surprising them Concrete make sure an idea can be grasped and remembered later Credibility give an idea believability Emotion help people see the importance of an idea Stories empower people to use an idea through narrative But crappy acronyms can be sadly underrated and this one worked well at structuring the book and in summarising the messageValue in sequencing informationbI realized how wrong I've been doing it and I can now understand why specific situations in the past year could have gone better if I employed some of the techniques in this book to communicate my ideas better.The key message in this book is that every This is unlike any other communication book you will ever read.Without a doubt one of the most profound books I've readThis is a sad story: a family holiday sullied by bad people who, inexplicably, wish to harm childrenS: Is your idea simple?U: is your idea unexpected?C: is your idea concrete?C: is your idea credible?E: is your idea emotionalS: is your idea a story? if yes, then your idea is a sticky idea!
