How to Change Direct Deposit bank account in QuickBooks

 

Here, we will discuss for change direct deposit bank account. If you have any QuickBooks version QB desktop Payroll Basic, Standard or Enhanced with Direct Deposit, you have the option to change/modify the bank account.

The processes are below:

 

  1. Your existing Intuit Account.
  2. Direct Deposit PIN, that you use to send payroll.

 

Set up/Update the bank account in QuickBooks

 

  1. First Set up the new bank account in the QuickBooks Desktop Chart of Accounts.
  • Select Lists>Chart of Accounts.
  • Click the Accounts button and select New.
  • then select Bank and click continue.
  • After that, Enter bank account information.
  • then, Click Save and Close.

 

2.Update the bank account information on Maintenance page.

 

  • In QuickBooks Desktop, go to Employees and select> My Payroll Service>Accounts/Billing Information.
  • Now Sign in using your Intuit Account login.
  • And then, In the Direct Deposit section, choose any of the Bank Account details.
  • Now Click OK on the message that shown
  • Now Enter you payroll PIN and then click submit.
  • Then Enter the new bank statement details and click on submit.
  • Now Wait for the confirmation and then click on continue.

Intuit will have to send two test debits to your new bank. It may take at least two working days for the test debits for the post on your bank declaration. but You will require to finished the steps below to activate your new bank account.

  • select the bank account where QuickBooks Desktop should post transactions returned by the Intuit service.

 

It is compulsory to activate the bank account, where direct paychecks and fees will post to updates when doing a bank account change.

 

  • Select Send Payroll Data from Employees on top menu
  • And then, Click on preferences, in the Send/Receive Data window.
  • And then, select new bank account from the drop-down list, from the Account Preferences window
  • Now Click OK to save your changes and Select Close.

 

Note: If you cannot change/modify bank account details in QuickBooks Desktop, then you have options to Download the form and send it to Intuit or email. If you want that your upcoming direct deposit payroll debit from the new account, you will require activating the new bank account. And If you want to pay your employees but you have not finished the bank account verification, that time you will require issuing paper checks.

To Activate your new Direct Deposit bank account:

  • For activation, Check your bank statement and create a note of the two small one-time withdrawals made by QuickBooks Payroll Service.
  • Enter 2 test debits in the QB Account Maintenance page. See steps below:
  • Click on Employees> My Payroll Service>Account/Billing Information.
  • And Sign in using Intuit Account login.
  • Now click on the Verify link next to your Direct Deposit bank account information.
  • And Enter the 2 test debit amounts to verify new bank account.
  • Then Enter and confirm your payroll PIN.
  • Click on Submit.
  • Change the default bank accounting QuickBooks Desktop.
  • And the, in QuickBooks Desktop, Change the bank account where payroll fees will post.
