Considering party combinations , and the randomization of items, you could get the best defensive item from one of the first few chests it seems like (A creamer) I would definitely be interested in a re-balancing or remaster of this game adding in more locked areas, few characters, bosses, and higher tier equipment not obtainable til later/higher floors.
