In the ultimate battle between good and evil stands a warrior who makes the choice that tips the balance. Key players in Elektra's journey are Stick, a blind martial arts master responsible for Elektra's "resurrection," and Mark Miller and Abby Miller, a father and daughter on the run from The Hand, a powerful syndicate whose members practice the dark version of the martial art Kimagure. Elektra, once a student of Kimagure, a force for good, whose masters can see the future and even bring people back from the dead, is now a paid assassin. The enemy, the force for evil, at this time is known as The Hand, whose members use the dark arts. In this tale Elektra is given an assignment to kill a man and his daughter. However when the time comes to complete the mission she is unable to. The daughter is also being sought by The Hand, for she is known as a treasure that can tip the scales in favor of either good or evil. The Hand, who have the policy of "If we can't have her then no one can", send their own people to kill her. Elektra then allies herself with the Millers and helps to protect them from The Hand. The journey to the climax, the ultimate battle between good and evil for the treasure, has some interesting revelations, heading for a finale with an interesting twist. "Elektra " is a perfect sequel for "Daredevil ". And if you are thinking think that it means something good, you would be wrong, because I hated "Daredevil" and I consider it one of the worst comic book adaptations into a film ever made . But "Elektra " is even worse than "Daredevil". Because if "Daredevil " at least have a coherent plot. "Elektra " doesn't. "Elektra" reach a astounding level of absurdity and boredom. One of the biggest flaws of this movie is that it pretends to make "Elektra " a family -friendly movie where there is a lot of martial arts and slapstick with some horrible effects, and of course , there isn't blood, so when the enemies die...they became green smoke! that could work if this movie were " Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles " but all this attempt to turn the story of a killer into kiddie stuff is just ridiculous. The story chaotic and clichéd. The plot twist are laughable and the script isn't very helpful. The characters ,despite the effort of the cast aren't very interesting and the ending result is cheesy and corny. But the worst part of all ,is that "Elektra " is incredibly boring and painfully slow in development. The story never turn interesting or original and it turn incredibly dull and monotone soon. "Elektra " is one of the worst movies of the 2005. I would wish to say that at least it was so bad that was funny, but no, it wasn't. It was just boring. Before seeing the movie I had read some negative criticism of Elektra, but after I saw it I found my bias went right out the window. I've always been a fan of all of the superhero movies out, especially since Marvel makes really great ones (yeah Catwoman and Batman and all those were good...but Marvel won't ever disappoint) - Elektra had great design elements, the acting was superb, I do wish they had provided more information, but it isn't like it's necessary. I think the other reviewers just want to know more behind what is given, but of what is given in the movie, it certainly gives enough. I really enjoyed seeing Elektra, I'm a fan of Alias somewhat, but I've seen a few of Jennifer Garner's movies, but I found Jennifer Garner really found the role very well, she had a completely different persona, and this movie really showed the evolution of Elektra Nachios. In Daredevil (which rocked), we met Elektra as a girl with her guard up, but also as a girl with a smile, then we left Elektra as a girl who was in pain and agony. But in Elektra, we met Elektra as a girl that was scorned, that had a lot of mental anguish, and we saw Elektra eventually become happy again, maybe not to the same as before, but we saw what she could truly become. So overall, this movie rocked. 9/10! Devotees of awful filmmaking can't go wrong with this one. In order to be able to get more people into the cinemas, the movie was cut down for a PG-13 rating.
