In a future of political, economic and moral collapse, a genetically enhanced superhuman prototype named Max escapes from military confines and dwells amidst the decadent underground street life of *Seattle* to avoid government agents who want to bring her back into the fold. Searching for others of her kind who were scattered in the aftermath of her escape, Max encounters Logan, an idealistic cyber-journalist battling repression and corruption in post-apocalypse America. Eventually, Logan calls her to the highest part of her being and Max becomes his samurai as the pair takes on the ruthless power-brokers of the new millennium. Max and Logan's odyssey leads them closer to the secret of her past, deepening and complicating their relationship in the process.
A group of genetically-enhanced children escape from a lab project. Years later we meet Max, one of the escapees who now works for a messenger service in the post-apocalyptic Pacific Northwest.
Dark Angel is the best TV show. From the director of Aliens, Terminator 2 and Titanic, Dark Angel very successfully includes elements of Sci-Fi, Action and Drama. And Jessica Alba as Max is fantastic and madly beautiful.
The story begins in 2009, when after terror electro-magnetic pulse America became poor country of 3rd world, where reign located in arms of corrupted clique and police not a law defender but main law-breaker. From a secret "Manticore" laboratory escapes several children, but they are not a simple kids - they are genetically-enhanced universal soldiers with very strong power and wonderful sight, hearing and other feelings. After ten years one of escaped kids, girl with strange name Max Guevara, working as biker-messenger in post-pulsed Seattle and she doesn't know that Manticore chief Donald Lydecker is looking for Max... Very, very good show, which take over viewers. Mr. Cameron the Best Director and Jess the best actress!
Dark Angel is easily one of the best shows around. With its cutting edge wit, sassy characters and interesting story lines I was horrified to learn it was cancelled. But after much tears and upset I realised that it was for the best. This way, the last episode "Freak Nation" gives hope not despair to its fans. You may wonder what I'm talking about(especially if you've re-watched it ten times and still feel dissatisfied), if it was given another season the budget would have been drastically cut. Another season would probably see Logan and Max still unable to touch, both growing more frustrated, popular cast members would be eliminated in the war. Jam Poni would no longer be in the show, which would probably cut down on Sketchy and Original Cindy's parts. Logan would eventually have to die(probably in the last episode) and the foundations which were laid in the beginning of season two, which were touched upon again nearing the end, for an Alec/Max romance would not begin until season 4 by which time another character would of course be introduced to upset our lovers. It took me a very long time to accept that Dark Angel only had 2 seasons, but considering another season fills me with fear. Dark Angel is a perfect example of television done well - it couldn't have lasted much longer, look at Roswell (it went downhill at the start of 2), Buffy went on 2 seasons too long, instead it stays in the world of cult alongside Firefly, Wonderfalls, American Gothic and many more. If you haven't seen it yet, I would strongly advise watching Dark Angel.
