Love is in the air and so are some battles in this season collection of My Life As a Teenage Robot! Sheldon fights for Jenny's heart as she faces countless villains struggling to break her pieces
Debuting on Nickelodeon in 2003, "My Life as a Teenage Robot" follows the escapades of Jenny, a super-powered robot with a super sensitive teenage heart. Her primary function is protecting the planet from any disaster. But, like all teenagers, she has her own ideas about how she would like to live her life. She's bored with being a superhero and wants to do something really exciting - like go to high school! Unfortunately, an endles array of global disasters and otherworldly villains keep cropping up to ruin her teenaged fun.
This show is weird. In case you haven't read, it's about a super high tech fighting machine called XJ9 who is given a human personality and wants to live as a human teenager for a change. It's kind of a mix between Astro Boy and Pinnochio for the new generation. Jenny (or XJ9 as her mother calls her) is kind of a cute, fun loving character in that she has a heart of a teenager but is trapped inside a robot shell.
Still, I can't quite say that I like the classic animation style and the world that Jenny lives in, with aliens and robots trying to take over the world everyday is just too strange for me. In the end, I guess this series is okay... the teenage popularity and social stuff can always be used as fun but grows tiring very quickly.
And unlike the Powerpuff girls, it is nowhere near as flashy or even entertaining.
It is just a deformed Teeny bopping Robot who had to choose between fighting supervillain or hang out at high school. I would rather be a typical superhero than hang at high school. I mean I passed high school and believe me, high school and middle school is BORING!
Stick to your typical shows. Any spin off on "O Yeah Cartoon" is crap. I prefer "What a Cartoon show" better.
Shame on you Suckalodeon. Have no sense of decency anymore? And shame on you MTV for ruining a once promising network.
