The best of the reality series crop is back, with 12 teams of 2 players each racing around the world, trying not to be eliminated at a series of checkpoints in which the last team to arrive is booted from the show. CBS chooses teams with relationships containing at least some tension, especially when the situation involves intense pressure. This season includes such duos as two circus clowns, a gay married couple, a father and son, a recently engaged couple, married couples, and best friends.
The sixth season of The Amazing Race saw 11 teams race for $1,000,000 around the globe to 'amazing' locations including Iceland, Norway, Sweden, Senegal, Germany, Hungary, Corsica, Ethiopia, Sri Lanka, China and Hawaii. The contestants included five models, two professional wrestlers, spinning instructors, an ex-Playboy playmate and a former striptease aerobics instructor. However only the fastest were able to make it all the way around the world and win $1,000,000, and this season, it was Freddy and Kendra who won the big prize.
If people got the word out more about this show I'm just predicting that it'd beat out "Survivor" for the crown of top reality show. This show sends 11 teams of 2 around the world facing various challenges that involve the culture of the area they are currently in. Each show features a team getting eliminated by their arrival as the last team. Then on each following show the team starts out the opposite of the time they came on maybe a day later. For example if they arrived at 8:00 am they would leave at 8:00 pm. The teams also have the option of using a fast forward which if they accomplish the task first enables that team to skip all other challenges and go to the set pit stop for this leg of the race. This show is so good I think because you're able to watch how they deal with the set of challenges that must come fourth. It is also interesting to see how alliances are made and broken and how each team gets tickets on the route of transportation (plane,car,bus,etc.) This show also is good as the players sometimes must combat their fears and do things they've never done before. I really enjoyed it because it is a unique show that really in a way broadens horizons. Kudos to CBS on the good job done.
WOW! This tv show is good enough to beat Survivor but they belong in the same network so... Anyway, I like how they put it together--[11 teams with 2 people in each team]. The one that really gives colour to the show is the contestants and their personality. The editing was really great & I think they should win an Emmy for this. There's alot of action in it and great games. After watching an episode you just can't wait for the next one. Right now I heard its the second best reality show next to Survivor so again GOOD JOB CBS! One thing I love about this show is the places, every episode they go to different country. >
Teams cannot check in to the pit stop without all of their travel documents. If they arrive at the pit stop without them, they must go back and retrieve them before they can be officially checked in. In Season 15, Zev and Justin were eliminated because they arrived at the pit stop without a passport and were unable to find it in time.
However if a team loses their passport during a non elimination round, but the following leg does not require them to use their passport to leave the country, they may proceed but must locate and produce their passport on the next leg as seen in Season 21, episode 8. Teams actually purchase four tickets when they travel: two for them, one for the camera man, and one for the sound man, but each team also tapes a shot asking for two tickets to avoid breaking the fourth wall.
