Bruce Willis stars in this Sci-Fi thriller about ultimate resort: VICE, where customers can play out their wildest fantasies with artificial inhabitants who look like humans. Julian Michaels (Bruce Willis) has designed the ultimate resort: VICE, where anything goes and the customers can play out their wildest fantasies with artificial inhabitants who look, think and feel like humans. When an artificial (Ambyr Childers) becomes self-aware and escapes, she finds herself caught in the crossfire between Julian's mercenaries and a cop (Thomas Jane) who is hell-bent on shutting down Vice, and stopping the violence once and for all. OK, the plot somehow sounded promising, after a recent survey (true) that 18% of college (and teenage) boys said they would rape women if there were no consequences. But the entire movie only had a premise, somehow no one knew how to end the movie. Awful and awkward acting, even from Bruce Willis himself. I don't think even his fans will like it. You have to watch it though to see the wretched Bruce Willis head shake at the end, priceless. And not in a good way! It looked like he was shaking his head, "damn, I just need quick cash". And too much gel hair on the police chief and his detective. I was tired all day when I saw this and sat like a zombie cos I was too tired to find something else since I was already sitting comfortably. Gahd, I gave it 2 stars, for 1 for the story line, 1 for Bryan Greenberg. Here's a contender for one of the worst films of this new year, I had to see it for myself. Yes the film is a dud, but of course very watchable, in light of all it's bad faults. Borrowing from of course other movies, Total Recall, and in particular, that 96 Cameron hit Strange Days, Vice is a place for degenerates to live and experience their sick fantasies, with artificial people cloned from others. One early scene involving a sick client has automatically thinking of Hostel. Vice is a muddled confused mess of a film, a write as you go film, where you can't wait for the next stupid moment to arrive. There are a couple of "roll your eye moments". and some really shoddy acting moments. Thomas Jane, the best actor in it, as a kick arse cop, unrefined, determined to bust Vice, led by it's owner (bad guy Willis, who's acting is reduced to a turn of the head, and a calm talking voice of dominance). Honestly, Jane is the best thing about the movie, while Jonathan Schaech was interesting as Willis's main assistant. A girl, who with her friend become returned property of Vice after being gunned down, pleasure models, that sicko's can have their fun with. One of them, a blonde haired beauty starts to retrieve real memory of her past, that should be erased, escapes, becoming one hell of a liability, with cops, Vice, + a scumbag after her. There are no real surprises in Vice either, sorry.... although one moment in the later part of the film had me distrusting, as to that nice guy from the bar earlier, and his assistant, in that scene where they are aiding blondie to get out of the country. I totally made out that nice guy, before the blonde bought it, had lost his wife, by his dialogue, and lets talk dialogue. Well it's not really original or inspiring here. There are moments of Vice that have you thinking about that earlier Vice movie with Daryl Hannah and Michael Madsen, as if giving that a second viewing. Okay, I'll be frank, it's entertaining junk movie watching here, the last third the best part, where things really get going, but Vice is just an amateur shoddy put together, too many things happening at once- storywise movie. When you really think about the inner premise it's more interesting, but the movie is a darn sight confusing. And of course, the last shot, just take dibs on if it's stupid or not. Dull and lifeless, Vice fails on the promise of even its lowest ambitions. a5c7b9f00b
