A US sub picks up Navy SEALs and receives an order for a nuke launch. Due to the circumstances of the order, the Captain refuses to fire. After escaping an attack from another US sub, the crew and SEALs take refuge on a small island.
500 feet beneath the ocean's surface, the U.S. ballistic missile submarine Colorado receive their orders. Over a radio channel, designed only to be used if their homeland has been wiped out, they're told to fire nuclear weapons at Pakistan. Captain Marcus Chaplin demands confirmation of the orders only to be unceremoniously relieved of duty by the White House. XO Sam Kendal finds himself suddenly in charge of the submarine and facing the same difficult decision. When he also refuses to fire without confirmation of the orders, the Colorado is targeted, fired upon, and hit. The submarine and its crew find themselves crippled on the ocean floor, declared rogue enemies of their own country. Now, with nowhere left to turn, Chaplin and Kendal take the sub on the run and bring the men and women of the Colorado to an exotic island. Here they will find refuge, romance and a chance at a new life, even as they try to clear their names and get home.
Last Resort is a little slow to start but given time it just gets better and better the more of it you watch, its a shame that is only went for one season, it should have been given more but i am not surprised as most decide if a series by the end of the first episode.
the entire concept of the show caught my attention, the idea was great and executed, but the story was told to quickly, it needed more time to go through everything correctly so it would make more sense. They used good actors to play the main characters which worked out good. really if you haven't watched it then your missing out on an amazing show.
Worth watching, just give it a go you will enjoy it.
I started watching this show from day one...and i was HOOKED!! This show has great acting..turns and twists you don't expect...a great storyline...and it keeps you interested every step of the way. This is what i call real, quality television...finally!!!. I just heard they are canceling this series and i am beyond baffled and upset. My family all got into a show for once we could all watch together. This is some great writing. If you haven't watched it yet, you need to watch one episode. You will be hooked and talking about it after and find yourself waiting impatiently for next weeks show. They are attacked by their own government and make it look like it was another country because they wouldn't follow orders to destroy a country for no reason not given by the proper authority ...this show just gets better and better and now they wanna cancel an amazing show after two or three months???? i just don't get it
