Well i watched this movie with half heart as my friends want to see it.Though i like the movies of Anurag kashyap.I am not impressed by its trailers.But when i watched this movie in theatre first thing which was shocking was the theatre was houseful.I thought only me n my friends will be there in theatre but it made me wrong. Second thing was the acting of not only the main lead Manoj bajpai but all other actors acted superbly.Even the smallest characters did justice to their characters. The story was awesome it contains action,humour and sex.Slangs made the movie more humorous to watch.If you liked Ishqiya I think you will like this more than the previous song.OOoo womaniya what a lyrics. The characters in the movie are complete degenerates. This movie is much like Rakth Charitra series by RGV, except this one is too long for no particular reason and none of the characters generate any sympathy, they are all evil immoral degenerates (like Bukka from Rakth Charitra). Heck, even the lead women characters are conniving manipulators. Abusive language is pervasive throughout the movie, more for shock value than anything else. What is the point of revenge back and forth over and over again? This could have been a good 2 hour movie. At the end, it did not matter to me if a Khan wins or Singh wins the battle of revenge. It does not matter, they are all thugs. The only redeeming quality is the awesome performance by Bajpai, Siddique, and Chadda. Piyush Mishra and Yashpal Sharma were wasted, they should have had more prominent roles, they are perfect for this genre. Music and background scores are forgettable. Watch for performances and shock-value, nothing else. As a rich and exuberant character-driven crime saga in an idiom you absolutely have not encountered before, and a dense, unsentimental portrayal of the collision between democracy, capitalism and gangsterism on the frayed margins of the post-colonial world, Gangs of Wasseypur is a signal achievement in 21st-century cinema. Yes, the film is based on a completely true story. Except for the names and a few incidents for cinematic and political reasons the entire subject is based on a true story that happened in the real village WASSEYPUR of Dhanbad district in Jharkhand, India. a5c7b9f00b
