In 2079, in Washington, the ex-CIA Operative Snow is brutally interrogated, accused of treason against the United States. The chief of the secret service Scott Langral believes that he shot the agent Frank in a hotel room. Meanwhile, the idealistic daughter of the president of the USA, Emilie Warnock, is visiting MS One, a maximum security prison in outer space expecting to find evidence that the prisoners are actually guinea pigs of a huge corporation. Now the veteran agent Harry Shaw offers freedom to Snow if he succeeds in rescuing the president's daughter. But the idealistic Emilie does not want to leave MS-One without the hostages. A man wrongly convicted of conspiracy to commit espionage against the U.S. is offered his freedom if he can rescue the president's daughter from an outer space prison taken over by violent inmates. Lockout – CATCH IT (B) Sci-fi adventurous movie about a prison in the space is an interesting premise. Starring Guy Pearce and Maggie Grace and set in the near future, Lockout follows a falsely convicted ex-government agent (Pearce), whose one chance at obtaining freedom lies in the dangerous mission of rescuing the President's daughter (Grace) from rioting convicts at an outer space maximum-security prison. The story is interesting and even at times with cheap CGI it works. I have to say Guy Pearce is the real man of the movie. He stands out and his roughed arrogant performance makes it really fun to watch. Maggie Grace is stunning and setting her niche in action movies considering coming out from Lost and then Smash Surprise Hit Taken its understandable that she is sticking with thrillers, action for awhile. And this is completely acceptable as she is pretty and does the job right. Overall, it's a fun entertainer and Guy Pearce and Maggie Grace's love/hate chemistry makes it thoroughly enjoyable. I was watching this movie for about 3 minutes, then I realised I was counting every "Snow" I hear instead of watching it.Boring ! Don't bother watching, it's crap. Bad script, bad dialog, bad directing, awful sfx... I thought the casting was able to save us from a total mess, I thought wrong. Don't waste your time on it. Directors Stephen St. Leger and James Mather fill the film's obvious narrative gaps with enough witty banter and tongue-in-cheek humor for audiences to overlook the subpar special effects used throughout. Guy Pearce met with Luc Besson at the beginning of 2010 in LA to discuss the film and then met with Stephen St. Leger and James Mather a few months later. He thought the script felt original, which is always what he is looking for. He also liked the idea of playing an irreverent character like Snow. He was drawn to him because he's not the typical action hero. He exhibited a lazy and exhausted quality.It has quite some tradition that some of writer/producer Luc Besson's movies get censored for a more profitable PG-13 rating. The censorship for the PG-13 rating is obviously no unknown territory for the filmmakers in Besson's team since they managed to take the edge off it very well by applying almost every tool one could think of. Next to using harmless alternate takes or simply cutting something out, the PG-13 also delivers a censored dialogue, audio line and even digitally manufactured visual alterations (and maybe even blood that's not quite as red as it is normally).
