Cousins Bo and Luke Duke and their car "General Lee", assisted by Cousin Daisy and Uncle Jesse, have a running battle with the authorities of Hazzard County (Boss Hogg and Sheriff Coltrane), plus a string of ne'er-do-wells often backed by the scheming Hogg. Bo and Luke Duke were handsome and honest hotshots and cousins living with their Uncle Jesse and sexy short-shorts-wearin' cousin Daisy on a farm in Hazzard County located somewhere in the Southern United States. While mostly interested in minding their own business (and driving at very high speeds in their souped-up Dodge Charger [nicknamed the General Lee]), the Duke boys sometimes fell prey to the greedy schemes of corrupt town leader Boss Hogg and his dimwitted flunky Sheriff Roscoe P. Coltrane. Sometimes serving as "Robin Hood" types (replete with bows and flaming arrows), the Dukes attempted to help out their friends and neighbors in distress and avoid being jailed by the unscrupulous Hogg. There are some shows that never quite leave you, and this one is one of them. I watched it as a young child, and one of my first memories is of the theme song of the show, with Luke sliding across the bright orange hood of the General Lee. But even now, watching the reruns on TNN, there is something that is still exciting and fun about the show. Its not a big one on plot, and the acting is definitely over-the-top. But its good-natured, farm-boy fun that can always get me cheering when the General Lee goes flying over something, landing safely on the other side. Someday when I have a little extra money I'll buy an old 69 charger and fix it up, paint it orange and slap a "01" on the side. Because what kid didn't want the General Lee? Yeeeeeeeeeeehaw! i thought (not to offend anybody) but i need to say this.i personally thought that the movie sucked. the only character they even got close to was uncle Jesse and they also made the movie to sexual and it had a person casting that obviously didn't know what they were doing there is no one in Hollywood that could possibly play the parts of BO,Luke,daisy,boss hog,Rosco,Enos or Cletus.i mean, come on they couldn't even get flash,(the dog)right.your a very bad caster if you cant get the freakindog right.and what ever happened to the quality of good old country fun?the car chases,the somewhat TV violence,i mean nobody really got hurt maybe just a good scuff or two i mean its not like the duke boys ever killed any body the most blood i have ever seen on that show was couple of bloody noses that the duke boys gave to each other on the episode "Carnival Of Thrills" were they get into a fight over some girl. a5c7b9f00b
