I am a big fan of the Purge Series. This film was, to be honest, a disappointment. It had some good action and one scary villain. Unfortunately, his potential was not realised which left for much more of an 'action' film rather than a 'horror' film. The costumes were good, with a few interesting ideas, but the script was very poor, predictable and full of clichés. Overall it is worth a watch, but you may as well wait until it is released on Home Video; the film is just OK, with only a few memorable parts.
I can't explain how much I disliked this movie. Why were all the people who got killed in this movie black? Why were the bad guys white? What's up with the political agenda?
The beginning is good, the rest of the movie is non logical and utterly directionless. After about 30 minutes into the movie the storyline went really bad and they lost me. The trailer looked promising but the movie turned out to be weak and disappointing.
Don't waste your money on this one! Wait for the rental version.
