An uptight FBI Special Agent is paired with a foul-mouthed Boston cop to take down a ruthless drug lord. Sarah Ashburn (Bullock) is an uptight FBI agent and has her eye on a promotion. She has closed more case than anybody else in the FBI, but the thing is none of her co-workers like her because she knows pretty much everything. She is sent to Boston to uncover the identity of a ruthless drug lord (Michael McDonald) and is paired up with a foul-mouthed Boston Cop (McCarthy), but they don't get along at all! This movie is perfect, it is real comedy gold. The fact that it's so rude and explicit makes it a unique movie, in every way. Though, I've noticed that some people can't deal with it, bunch of cry babies that can't handle all the profanity that this movie contains. Will all you wimpish, overly polite Americans just grow some balls, cause this movie deserves better than 6,7! Other than that, this movie totally rocked! The dialogs were great, and all the scenes were perfectly done for you to have a good laugh. Melissa McCarthy does such a good job in these kinds of movies, she is just perfect. Sandra Bullock was also surprisingly funny in this movie, she and Melissa made an awesome match! "The Heat" is an off-the-rack buddy-cop comedy whose primary distinction is that its two opposites-attract crime-fighters just happen to be women.

Sandra Bullock plays the by-the-book FBI agent whose know-it-all, off-putting personality makes her very unpopular with her coworkers and very unsuccessful in her personal life. Melissa McCarthy, still on her hit-movie roll, is the Boston cop whose slovenly appearance, verbal abusiveness, foul-mouthed demeanor and borderline-psychotic tendencies mask the heart-of-gold that beats just beneath the surface. Against their better judgment, they are forced to team up to capture a dangerous drug kingpin operating in McCarthy's jurisdiction.

Movies like "The Heat" rise and fall on the appeal of their players and the humor of the writing, and "The Heat" does reasonably well on both counts under the auspices of writer Katie Dippold and director Paul Feig. The two stars achieve a great deal of chemistry playing off one another, and the jokes, while not for the faint-hearted or easily offended, land on their feet more often than they fall flat. The movie is also blessed with a likable supporting cast that includes Marlon Wayans, Michael Rapaport, Jane Curtin, Michael McDonald and others. The volatile chemistry between Ms. McCarthy and Ms. Bullock is something to behold, and carries The Heat through its lazy conception and slapdash execution. The US Blu-ray features two versions of the film. Next to the R-rated theatrical version, we have an unrated cut that doesn't offer a substantially better film. If you liked the theatrical version, you might enjoy some of the plot extension that the longer cut introduces since they add a little humor but they are not necessary to alter the film's overall impression. In total the Unrated Version runs approx. three minutes longer than the Theatrical Version. a5c7b9f00b
