Josh Futturman, a janitor by day and a gamer by night, is recruited by mysterious visitors to travel through time to prevent the extinction of humanity.
Of the current SF or supernatural themed comedies currently around (People of Earth, The Good Place, etc) this is by far the best. The jokes are frequent, funny and very well delivered by a cast that are all on board. I note that most of the dissenting reviews on IMDb seem to object to some of the vulgarities, but really, they kind of fit and aren't just used to punctuate sentences. This is not just Billy Connolly pointlessly saying F*** every second word because it sounds funny in a Scottish accent. There is not one person that doesn't contribute. I hope we get more seasons.
I will be the first to admit I usually hate this type of humor. For some reason, Future Man really drew me in. All the critics that say they over-promised and under-delivered have no idea what they're talking about. I want to see more shows like this. There were moments I literally laughed out loud...something I never do with comedies these days.
Josh Hutcherson was a solid casting choice. Also, I should point out I never post reviews. Ever. But I am so glad this was renewed for a second season. Refreshing yet real.
