A vulgar private detective is hired to find a missing groupie and is drawn into a mystery involving a series of murders tied to the music industry. Ford "Mr. Rock n' Roll Detective" Fairlane is experiencing problems, and it's not with the opposite sex. One of them is that all the rock stars pay him with drum sticks, koala bears, food processors and bicycle shorts. Another one of them is that all his employers that want him to find a girl named Zuzu Petals get killed. Why didn't he become a fisherman's detective instead? A must-see for Andrew Dice Clay fans. Well, I must admit that I took the critics advice back in 1990 and avoided this superhero comedy. But after watching it tonight, this is pure laughs. How can you not love the Hearst car chase as a gulity pleasure? The Dice is a riot. And judging from its respectable box office, a sequel was a must. Ebert should be ashamed for giving it one star. I give it a suave*** Have a Twinkie, snapper heads if you thought this movie was bad. This movie was hilarious plain and simple. This is the best stuff that Clay has done and probably ever will do unless they make an even more funny sequel to this masterpiece. Ed Oniel and the rest of the all star cast were just great and too funny in this movie. It never get's old or boring and every time you watch it you find something even more funny than the last. If it weren't for stupid controversy surrounding Clay back then maybe the film would not have been pulled from theaters as early as it did. It was making pretty good money in between the protests at theatric before 20th Century Fox wimped out after only 3 weeks and pulled the movie. My suggestion...don't believe the hype around Clay's stand up act and watch this guy as the comedy genius that he is in this movie. "Happy Viewing" Renny Harlin, who did a much better job directing ''Die Hard 2,'' displays no sense of humor and takes the film's nonsensical action scenes much too seriously, at one point even blowing up a beach house in the process. a5c7b9f00b
