In 1963, all the prisoners and guards mysteriously disappear from Alcatraz. In the present day, they resurface and a secret agency are tasked with re-capturing them. On March 21, 1963, the inmates and guards at Alcatraz prison mysteriously disappear. To cover up the problem, the government reports to the public that the prison has been closed because of unsafe conditions. A secret government unit was set-up to find the prisoners. Now, in the present-day, the inmates begin returning - unaged and unaware of where they have spent the missing decades - and continue their criminal ways. They are acting out of character and appear to be searching for specific objects. A federal agent employs a police officer and a conspiracy theory novelist to help track them down. Finally, there is smart TV on again! This show is intriguing and makes you think. Not usually predictable! It is a refreshing change from reality TV and mindless television. This show needs to be saved for many reasons!! We are so tired of stupid, uncomfortable humor in TV that doesn't make you think. In a landscape full and gray plots, characters and a sense of purpose to the show, Alcatraz provides a bright spot of color that many viewers crave. While reality TV has become the norm, there is something to be said for the smart fiction, combined with a bit of history, that Alcatraz provides. It is the escape that many viewers are looking for. Mostly I agree with all the critics. But my biggest disappointment is the script. How they solve the problems are ridiculous. I am feeling like the scriptwriters thinks us as stupid.Also I have to disagree with the people who liked Sam Neil in this project. He has constantly the same acting. Sarah Jones costumes are a little bit funny.I had such big hopes about Alcatraz. Sadly I am disappointed. I hope that they will consider all the critics to make it better. Because I have to say the idea is great but handling the subject is not adequate. I know this is a series they have to extend the subject for years but for the first season they should have show other side of the story. Because first season is the time to catch the audiences.
