Late at night, in an unnamed U.S. city, a solitary man sits at a bus stop. A pregnant woman runs by, pursued by a man with a gun. With reluctance, the man at the bus stop rescues her and assists with the baby's delivery, while additional pursuers fire at them, including the gang's particularly nasty leader, an intuitive man named Hertz. Our hero, known only as Smith, determines to save the child and find out why Hertz wants the baby dead. At a local bordello, he tries to employ a lactating hooker to watch the child, but things quickly escalate, and this makeshift family is soon on the run. Heavy metal music calms the baby. Why? A laboratory, gun factory, and presidential campaign all figure in Smith's quest for the child's safe deliverance.
A man named Mr. Smith delivers a woman's baby during a shootout, and is then called upon to protect the newborn from the army of gunmen.
IF you go into this movie thinking it is another Crank or Die Hard 4, you'll be in for a shock.
At first it'll grab your attention with a great soundtrack and stylish direction. Then the fast-paced unique action will entertain. But when it steps up it's exaggeration and becomes almost cartoony with scenes and sequences, you'll realise this is for guns what Kung Fu Hustle was for fists.
Definitely worth a watch, especially if you were a Kung Fu Hustle fan, if you are looking for plot then look elsewhere, this is entertainment and comedy.
Davis awkwardly tosses adolescent comedy jabs into a flurry of grossly far-fetched shooting action. There are a few tasteless flesh scenes and sex themes that cheap shot below the belt.
Through my bleeding eyelid cut I did gleam some satisfaction from the hero's action choreography. Some of the humor knocked a grunt out of me along with my wind. Camera and sound effects were solid. I did sit through to the end. It could have been worse.
Overall, I was embarrassed that someone might recognize me when I walked out of the movie.
I read IMDb ratings before I watched this movie and it should have been better than average. My disappointment motivated me to sign up so I can vote and comment going forward. I will make every attempt to remember that Michael Davis directed this film and avoid his titles in the future.
The whole thing feels like watching somebody else play a video game. Director Michael Davis obviously was more interested in crafting a series of gunfights than a coherent story arc.
