The series is a superb recreation of TOS. I remember reading about the upcoming series in 1966 as a young teenager and then waiting for it to be screened. I watched the original series on a black and white TV and then later in colour.
The production values they've brought to bear in recreating the series are really quite phenomenal. It's obviously a labour of love.
My son (also a Star Trek fan), pointed me to the new series. I admit that I was sceptical until I watched an episode. I was blown away. It's a perfect recreation.
A big thank you is due to all the members of the production team.
I will get to the point, this is just awful! This take on Star Trek is like asking a 5 year old to re-paint a classic mater piece! The original series is what started it all, why try and revamp it is just beyond me.
As a kid growing up I used to count the days to the next episode, the magic of Star Trek was just amazing, and here they go and butcher my child hood memories! It took all of about 5 minutes for me to want to laugh or cry, specially when I noticed Grant Imahara, and those horrible accents are just so wrong, the magic formula worked years ago, but it just fails with this money grabbing remake!
Very solid 1 out of 10, and should be banned from planet earth!
