Vanessa Helsing, distant relative of famous vampire hunter Abraham Van Helsing, is resurrected only to find that vampires have taken over the world.
I watched the first few episodes of this show with an open mind and thought, "Hey, Van Helsing kicking the teeth in of some vampires and/or werewolves is going to be GREAT again, right?"
That is what I was expecting after watching the 2004 Van Helsing movie. Oh boy, I was dreadfully wrong.
I understand and can accept that the setting has changed from the 1800s to modern day, I can accept that this version of Van Helsing is a woman, I can even give a pass on the mediocre acting because all actors have to start somewhere in their careers.
But what I cannot accept are these zombie-like creatures, which the show calls 'vampires', that exist in this show's universe. Seriously? Its a horrible concept which was horribly executed (they look like unwashed homeless people).
I haven't even see the Walking Dead, but I already can tell its a blatant rip-off. Please, no more zombies - no matter what you want to call them.
How can anyone write this kind of crap? It's like the writer/s are purposely making every character so stupid that it is so goddamn hard to watch. After 7 episodes, I just had to give up. I hope that the people involved in developing the story of this never get hired again.
