In the fourth and final installment of the Arkham Series, Bruce Wayne sets out into the night once again to thwart the plans of Scarecrow, Harley Quinn and Two-Face when they're supplied with weapons from the Penguin in their attempt to hunt the Knight and take his head. With his back against the wall, Batman turns to his closest allies to help him save Gotham City from the clutches of Scarecrow and the Arkham Knight's army. A familiar face also returns to give The Dark Knight a message he cannot ignore. Batman Arkham Knight is the concluding chapter of Rocksteady's Batman Arkham trilogy. It is a great time to be a Batman fan because not only does he have the best movies (The Dark Knight Trilogy), he has the best games as well (Arkham Trilogy).

Arkham Asylum was great and Arkham City was even better and I couldn't wait to try this part out. I held out this long due to the PC port issues but just couldn't wait anymore.

What I Liked: Being made from the ground up for current gen consoles, the game looked STUNNING. Detailed character models, environments and HOLY HELL DEM RAIN EFFECTS. It all looked really beautiful.

Very well directed and cinematic cut scenes.

Main story had some really great moments. Especially the final part, it was pure perfection, couldn't have asked for a better last mission/area.

Just like the previous parts, mostly great voice acting all round. Scarecrow was a great villain. Felt powerful, threatening and had great voice acting that sold his presence perfectly.

Finally we were able to free roam in Gotham City. And it was meticulously created in accordance with Rocksteady's vision of this world. Was fairly large too.

Improvements and additions to an already great combat and detective mechanics made for the best gameplay in the franchise and truly put you in Batman shoes.

Some added improvements in roaming mechanics made gliding through the city a real treat.

Batmobile had fun arcade-y driving and made you feel really powerful. It was a major addition fully integrated in the game instead of just being a gimmick.

Riddler side mission with Catwomen had fun puzzles where you had to work together with either catwomen or your batmobile.

Parts of the game where your allies joined you in a fight were great. The seamless transition from Batman to your ally in the fight made for exciting and fun combat.

What I didn't liked: Arkham Knight, the villain in the friggin title, was a huge disappointment. Not only was I able to figure out who he was way before the major reveal, he was just sorta there instead of feeling a proper force to be reckoned with. And he sometimes felt like a whiny brat.

Story had uneven pacing and often dragged on.

Batmobile was a double edged sword. The tank fight missions were fun at first but boy oh boy did they get so tedious later on and I was really bored with them. And the game just kept throwing them at you till the end.

Riddler's riddles with Batmobile race tracks were so annoying.

Very few boss fights and almost all of them were underwhelming or disappointing. What's worst, some of the most important ones were with batmobile.

Most side missions of iconic super villains were nothing more then rinse and repeat tasks till you finish them all and have a mediocre boss battle instead of proper story arcs.

Very few areas where you tag team with an ally.

PC port is very poor. Rocksteady outdid Ubisoft here.

Arkham City remains by favourite Arkham game. This game wasn't perfect but the good far outweighed the bad and overall, it was a pretty good end to the trilogy and was great at making you feel like batman. Since Rocksteady is done with him, I hope they use their superhero game making expertise to create a Superman game or some other hero.

8.5/10 Batman: Arkham Knight is the definition of Best Game Ever! First things first: Gotham. Gotham is beautiful, it's wet/dark look gives the Dark Knight a huge vast open world to explore, with tons of side missions, and trophy's to discover! Riddler's race tracks are very well done, and give you a reason to explore. Gotham is Gotham. If you read the comics, this is the city you're getting. It's rich and amazing. Once you get a bit through the game (SPOILER) The Joker becomes Batman's hallucination. When exploring Gotham, you'll often find him on buildings talking to you about "How much he missed Gotham." It's awesome. The Dark Knight himself is Buff and powerful, the fighting has only improved much more then the previous games, and the graphics are superb! ScareCrow is creepy and eerie. But the villain who shines the most throughout the game is Arkham Knight. The voice actor is AMAZING. Although the twist was nothing special, I love how he studies your moves, which forces you to change up your style in each battle. Overall, Batman Arkham Knight is the Batman game we've wanted. Explore Gotham, take down villains, and watch Arkham Asylum and Arkham City gloom in the background. It's perfect. I recommend you get this, NOW! Its not even a year. Arkham Knight takes place 9 months after the events of Arkham City. It is, as far as Rocksteady is concerned. After this, they probably want to move on to other game series and begin new franchises. If any future Arkham games are made, they will most likely be done by Warner Games Montreal, who made Arkham Origins. No. Rocksteady has opted to go with its own writing staff to finish the story. Prior to the game's final mission, Batman realizes he must surrender himself to Scarecrow to save Robin and Jim. However, if you don't do it, then nothing happens. You can continue the game as normal, the story mode just won't end until you surrender. Plus, every now and then Scarecrow will come on the PA to taunt Batman. Villains: The Scarecrow, The Arkham Knight, Two-Face, The Penguin, The Riddler, Harley Quinn. Firefly, Professor Pyg, Deathstroke, Deacon Blackfire, and Man-Bat.

Allies: Gordon, Oracle, Officer Cash, Robin, Nightwing, Catwoman and Azrael

Also Poison Ivy sides with Batman, though it's as a tentative truce. She ends up sacrificing herself and dies saving Gotham from the Scarecrow's toxins

The Joker returns as a voice inside Batman's head as well as a series of hallucinations throughout the game. He "helps" Batman along the way, offering clues and insight Yes. Joker is in the game and in a large way. Though he's not alive, he is inside Batman's mind due to the effects of his blood still being inside Batman after the events in Arkham City. He shows up constantly throught out the game, talking to Batman and commenting on the events going on....

EDIT He don't see the Joker because of Jokers blood, but because of Cranes toxin. He is infected by the toxin in the beginning of the game, when he tries to save Gotham from the toxin Jason Todd. The game claims he became Red Hood after the events of it had ended. He initially took on a different persona and went after Batman, believing that Batman never cared about him and simply replaced him entirely. During the events of the game he was a supervillain with the goal of killing Batman and everyone he loves. Only at the end of it he changes his mind and becomes a vigilante, although, unlike Batman, he is willing to kill. a5c7b9f00b
