When a seemingly unstoppable new enemy threatens the very existence of the Earth, Admiral Pavel Chekov (Walter Koenig) is forced to work outside the boundaries of Starfleet's rules to combat this deadly new foe. When planet after planet winks out of existence, yet Starfleet refuses to act, Chekov turns to Commander Tuvok (Tim Russ, who also directs), the new head of Starfleet's covert operations division, Section 31. Together, they assemble a new elite strike-force, consisting of rogues, outcasts and criminals, led by the fearless yet haunted Lexxa Singh (Adrienne Wilkinson). The Renegades' mission is simple: take on an army and stop their leader, Borrada (Bruce Young), from destroying the Earth. Outnumbered and out-gunned, the ragtag crew is in an adrenaline-pumping race against time and space. But they soon find their foes are the least of their concerns: the real trouble may be coming from within!
Set a decade after the U.S.S Voyager's return to Earth, a rag-tag crew of renegades and outcasts must covertly work with Admiral Chekov and Tuvok to stop forces threatening the Federation from outside, and within.
this was a garage made movie not even worthy of watching passed 5 minutes the affects with masks from your cheap joke shops and special effects from something out of 1970s doctor who!! i had to stop after 4 minutes just in case someone walked in and saw me watching it!!! this is a slap in face the face for those who have spent their lifetimes on the series and the follow up movies why bother making such crap?
it is just a total flop and a waste of 5 minutes of my life which would of been spent better on the toilet. Leonard Nemoy will be flipping in space!
i feel sorry for the true Trekkie movie fans as this is going backwards
I'll first point out you won't find spoilers here. I also did not back this movie, so this won't be a fan-boy review. I am, however, a huge fan of the franchise.
The acting in this movie was horrid. Only one or two actors have any chops. The fact that they had to bring in a cast of characters from many other star trek series to lend validity to the branding of the movie tells you a lot. Those they brought in either acted deadpan, or like they had a gun to their heads.
The special effects were mostly pretty terrible. A few of the space sequences were worthy of the name Star Trek, but most fall short of the mark.
The props and set constructions looked and felt cheap throughout the entire movie.
The sound were the famous star trek sounds, but even they sounded tinny and were badly mixed in.
The only thing that made me finish this movie, was that it was so terrible I had to see how bad it got before the end.
