In a world where mutated humans are treated with distrust and fear, an institute for mutants battles to achieve peaceful co-existence with humanity.
Back in the 60's a story about people being hunted because they were different from normal humans was fine. Heck if you had different skin tones you were rejected, ostracized, and prejudiced against. But this is the late 2000 teens. Where a large portion of the population would be against prejudice, even against mutants.
The writers of this don't really seem to comprehend what "Zero Tolerance" means. In 2017 a kid looks the wrong way at another kid they get suspended pending a hearing! Who ever wrote this thinks it's 1958 all over again. Gangs of bullies roaming high schools nowadays? Yeah, right. You wouldn't have to threaten legal action, you'd already have a team of lawyers and live in a mansion!
People would argue that mutants like Magneto were RADICAL Terrorists! Hardly a representative of all mutants. The idea of registering them, and profiling them would also be fought against. And detention would not wash at all.
The idea of "good" mutants combating "bad, or "radical" ones would be beloved and supported.
There would be demonstrations, the media would be on the side of the mutants! There would be safe houses. There would be a mutant underground railroad system. They mention an underground rail, but imply its solely mutants helping mutants...cough cough BS! It would be 2/3rds of the US citizens~!
Times change! The tired old all mankind being totally against mutants thing is now ridiculous given the current political climate against ALL PREJUDICES? Your show needs to get with the times! Now having said that...it also needs to step up in Writing, budget, not being Twilight with mutants instead of Vampires...a whole buncha stuff.
I'm hooked after seeing the first episode, it's a great installment in The X-Men Universe. I was wondering will sink like the first episode of Inhumans. But it didn't sink it sailed in my book, the effects are incredible, and the CGI is not over used.
I love characters played Amy Acker and Stephen Moyer, who play parents trying to protect there two teenage kids who have mutant powers, and are hunted. The series has other characters, but the family is the driving force of the show. It deals with people being badly judged just for being different, so much of that goes around in real life too. I hope the show will go on for a while, I wonder if any the actors from the X-Men movies will make an appearance here, I hope.
