An ex-con assumes the identity of a murdered sheriff in the small town of Banshee, Pennsylvania, where he has some unfinished business.
Lucas Hood, an ex-con and master thief, assumes the identity of a murdered sheriff where he continues his criminal activities. His past seems to haunt him by those he betrayed years earlier. This ex-con imposes his own brand of justice where violence erupts at every turn in the not so quiet Amish town of Banshee, Pennsylvania.
We watched this show after having withdrawals from 'The Following' and being told that this was of a similar standard.... How wrong can you be?! From the second it started, it went steadily downhill! We just couldn't take to the main character which was a major problem, plus the action scenes we're so unbelievable and unlikely that we struggled to finish the first episode.
We weren't really taken with the plot and none of the characters had any real screen presence which really doesn't make the viewer care enough to want to keep watching.
We usually give new show 2 episodes but I'm not sure we can bear to put ourselves through it with Banshee! Lots of better shows out there like Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones and Orphan Black. Avoid Banshee and try one of those instead!
Its surprising to not see this show in the limelight up there among some of the other top action TV shows. This show has it all and then some more. Right from the titling, which is really surreal and tactfully done to the actors, action scenes, sex, editing, pace and last but not the least - the production value...are all top notch. The fight sequences are beautifully choreographed. I would want to watch this show over many other so called 'highly rated' ones anytime. All in all this one will not catch your attention if you are randomly searching for some good, thrilling TV shows to binge on. So purposefully chase this show and watch it!
