In a distant and mystical land, wimpy Prince Adam leads the life of royalty. Unknown to all but a few close friends/allies, Prince Adam is actually a hero, the mighty He-Man. Together with his friends, (such as Teela; her father, a man-at-arms; mysterious Orko and his mighty friend/horse substitute Battle Cat), He-Man battles the evil Skeletor and his minions for control of the world, and, more importantly, for the control, power and "honor of Greyskull," the mysterious castle from which He-Man derives his powers. Prince Adam is the son of King Randor and Queen Marlena, the royal rulers of the planet Eternia. What the King and Queen and his friend do not know is Adam is the most powerful man in the universe known as "He-Man", a mighty warrior, who with the use of his weapon, the sword of Greyskull, and with help from his companions, loyal soldier Man-At-Arms, his daughter Teela, the lovable Orco and He-Man's pet tiger Battlecat, He-Man fights the evil Skeletor and his henchman who bid to rule Eternia and discover the secrets of Greyskull, the mysterious castle where He-Man discovered the sword of Greyskull and received his special powers. When He-Man raises his sword by the power of Greyskull and turns from Adam into He-Man, I get so giddy. I can't believe how this still sends goosebumps and excitement through me, but then again so does seeing Superman, Batman, or Spider-Man rescuing someone. I know that it is for kids but why would that effect my rating for this series? We don't say that it is for adults as an insult and therefore something being for kids is not a problem for me. I love the characters. I especially love He-Man and Orko. Definitely something I am truly fond of to no end. In heaven there will still be He-Man reruns! The bad guys are so bad and the good guys are awesome. I am biased because Igrew up on this but so what. This series is awesome! If you were born (like me) in or around 1979, it is likely you will remember this fantastic series. I clearly remember loving it as a child and would dearly love to see some of the episodes again. And if it is ever remade, it MUST be in its original form - not some 'new' He-Man. The 80s were wonderful to grow up in! a5c7b9f00b
