The Good: the cheesy predictable action, and hot women
The Bad: Death Race: Inferno... Lets face it, there is just too much that is bad about this movie. The acting is listed in most reviews, and in some cases I would agree. The special effects are kind of cheesy too. The plot? Lets just say a screen door would hold water better than this movie could. The plot holes in this movie aren't just small easily-explained-away-with-some-imagination holes... they are huge, gaping, WTF plot holes!
The Ugly: I think this was the conversation that the screenwriters had with the director: "Hey, lets make a third installment!" "Good idea, how will it play in relation to the other movies?" "There are other movies? Oh... I think I can incorporate some of the characters..." "Ok, just pick two and lets do this!" Seriously though, if you think that this will be ANYTHING like the other two... quit while you are ahead. They bring in dead and escaped/freed characters as though the first movie never happened.
Other Notes: This movie, by itself, would be iffy at best... but as a third installment, it looks like a desperate attempt to get more money out of a finished franchise. And special note to the directors and screenwriters: If you are going to make another installment to a series: WATCH THE ***** MOVIES THAT ARE SUPPOSED TO COME BEFORE IT!
One just put some cars on screen, paint them and try to make a movie with guns, playboy girls and awfully martial skills. Script ?...no need! Realism ? no need also, since the movie target public are retards. So, this time we take the big race on Africa, and we try to imitate the shooting from death race 2 on the desert. We bring also a fight of 10 girls (no need to see them fighting, we have no time/or skills for that, so we use only a shaking camera to simulate the combat) - but the rest of story fall on the death race 2 path. I suffer a lot watching this crap, and again I see how one think if we join money+bad-script+bad-acting ...maybe, maybe a glorious movie will be born. But the life its cruel, and Roel Reiné end-up with one of the most stupid movies I ever see... I give a HUGE minus 10 (-10 !) . Save your time and do NOT watch this movie.
If you listen carefully, once York dons the Frankenstein mask, he says one line. But he says it in an American accent. Likely to keep his guise as Frankenstein. It's revealed at the end of this film that Lucas, Katrina and Goldberg make a deal with Weyland, fake their own deaths, escape the prison and are very handsomely rewarded by Weyland but not before burning Niles York and framing him as Frankenstein. While this film ties everything up nicely to lead into Death Race (2008) (2008), the end has Niles York as the new Frankenstein saying, "I am Frankenstein, I will have my revenge," which could be the setup for another prequel sequel. But most likely York is the Frankenstein who is killed on the track in the beginning of the first film. Aside from the unrated version, a censored R-rated cut (rated R for violence and language throughout and sexual content) has been released in the US, too. Contrary to Death Race 2, the R-rated doesn't only lack some trivial nudity footage but also (and mostly) footage with violent content. This doesn't seem to be most widespread version but video store customers better keep their eyes peeled. The unrated version is approximately 40 seconds longer than the R-rated. a5c7b9f00b
