After experiencing traumatic nightmares of a time now past, the Sorceress summons Prince Adam and Cringer to Castle Grayskull to give Adam a precious, jeweled sword and send the pair to the planet Etheria to investigate its secrets. Unsure of what they are expected to find, the Prince and his companion befriend the Great Rebellion, a small group of citizens fighting a huge intergalactic army, known as the Evil Horde, ruled by the vicious tyrant Hordak. During a titanic battle, Adam transforms into He-Man to help the rebels, but is soon captured by the Horde's Force Captain, Adora, and placed under Horde surveillance. Adora is disturbed from her sleep by a strange voice, which leads her to the site of the imprisoned He-Man, where she is greeted by the Sorceress of Grayskull, speaking to her through the jewel in the mysterious sword The Sorceress reveals the terrible truth behind Adora's past - she is a Princess. not only that, she is He-Man's twin sister - kidnapped by the Horde when she was just an infant! Adora seizes the magic sword, holds it high above her head and summons the power of Grayskull! With this, she is transformed into the magnificent She-Ra, Princess of Power, and frees her brother. Reunited at last, the Prince and Princess vow to return home to bring the Eternian Royal Family together again and attempt to free the Kingdom of Bright Moon from Hordak's reign of terror! Prince Adam is sent to the world of Etheria to find his long abducted sister, Adora, and awaken her to her own destiny. I adore this movie. I'm glad I was fortunate enough to get this video! Because you won't find many around anymore. There were two versions of this movie: The Tv 5 part episodes and the movie itself Secret of the Sword. I was however disappointed because the movie had many cut outs of interesting dialog that are in the tv 5 part episodes. But other than that I was astounded by SOTS. Action packed, filled with humor, and the finding of a long lost twin sister, made it some what emotional for me. The voice actors of He-Man and She-Ra (John Erwin and Melendy Britt)did an incredible job! And where ever they may be out there I wish I could tell them how immensely I enjoyed the He-Man and She-Ra series! How it impacted my life as a kid and as an adult! There is a huge community of the He and She fans out here and there is nothing more we want but to bring He-Man and She-Ra back to TV. Many fans, including myself have written enough fanfics to have a whole new season of episodes!! These series have surpassed your average kid's cartoon show! It was a shame that they were taken off the air, we are hoping and striving to get them on the Cartoon Network or Nickleodeon. If you don't believe me check out the episode "The Problem with Power." This episode is why we love He-Man so much. Be on the lookout for their videos will be re-released in 2000!! This film was made,primarily,to introduce He-Man's twin sister She-Ra,who,in the 80's,ruled not only every toy department in the world,but were also the main characters in quite possibly one of the most successful cartoons ever made! It is a dark and stormy night on the planet Eternia,and Prince Adam is summoned to Castle Greyskull,by its guardian,the Sorceress,who dispatches him on a heroic journey to find the meaning of a mystical sword! On the planet Etheria,our hero is teamed up with a rebel band of warriors who have pledged to over-throw the evil Horde,led by Hordak and his dastardly bunch of villains! It all turns pear-shaped however when our intrepid hero meets his match in the form of Adora,the blonde,rather attractive ( compared to the other motley crew Hordak surrounds himself with) captain of the Horde Army,who,oblivious to the Horde's evil-ways,imprisons our hero on Beast Island! Will Adora learn of the Horde's evil ways,and see the light!? And will Prince Adam learn the Secret of the Sword!? Well,watch it and find out,as this is a fantastic kids..and big kids..movie..made back in the days when pace,story-telling,and interesting characters,was everything! It can be said,having watched some of the "childrens" films of the last few years,that they really dont make films like this anymore! It could all so easily slip into unbearable cuteness at certain stages,but the wit and pace of the film,never drags it down!
