April, Courtney and Monica are three beautiful, intelligent and tough college freshmen. They are finishing their first semester at Los Lomas Malas community college, the armpit of community college's. They must do well on finals to gain entrance to an Ivy League University, cheer at the big game and rescue their Sensei, who has been kidnapped by the mob, all by midnight so they can compete in the all-city strip off with the hopes of winning college money. All the while, dodging nosy cops, keeping their parents at bay, dealing with a perverted coach and smiling, talking or fighting their way through a slew of odd characters.
Three college cheerleaders (and after-school go-go dancers) use their martial arts skills to save their Sensei from mafia kidnappers, but must keep their extracurricular activities a secret to realize their Ivy League dreams at Brown.
Just watched this movie today not expecting much from it. The girls could hardly pull of a kick or a good looking punch! The humour isn't really funny in the movie with only a few jokes to giggle at. I do have to say that the hot chicks make up for the not so good story line and action sequences. I would not really waste my time watching this, if you really have nothing to do then go for it! The plot line is blatant and all scenes you can picture them before hand its a typical low budget movie. I guess its more of a "girly" movie than anything! I gave it a 4/10. Could have been much better but not bad to watch and pass your time.
**********************SPOLIER ALERT*********************************** The movie basically evolves around 3 teen age girls how want to get an admission into a institute called browns. They have been best buddies since ages and attend a martial arts school. Their teacher (Hiroshi) gets them to do errands for them at night. The main plot is about an evil mob boss who kidnaps Hiroshi because he owns the a strip club belonging to the mob bosses family. The cheerleaders have to save Hiroshi whilst winning a competition at a strip club to raise enough money to go to browns and at the same time pull of a dance routine for the schools basketball team.
This movie is low budget and KNOWS its low budget. We have teenagers obviously being played by adults, that sort of thing. The opening credits started with a great deal of promise for me. In fact, if not for the opening credits, I would be telling you all that this was in fact a zero star movie for me.
The problem lies in the movie knowing its low budget and not knowing what to do with itself. Unlike a movie like "Sharknado" which plays well with its "badness", "Ninja Cheerleaders" fails to use its badness and lack of budget to its benefit. Frequently jokes run on for far too long.
