Female aliens take control of Earth's monsters and begin using them to destroy the human race.
In 1999, the United Nations has established bases on the moon and on Ogasawara Island off the coast of Japan. Ogasawara is also where all the world's monsters, including Godzilla and Rodan, have gathered for study and to keep them from wreaking havoc on the world. However, a group of alien women known as Kilaaks take over the island and put the monsters as well as the humans under mental control in order to conquer the rest of the Earth. It is up to astronaut Katsuo Yemabe and his crew to stop the Kilaaks as well as release the monsters and the humans from their control before it is too late.
Any movie with 11 monsters is an instant bad ass. I did not see all of this film but it was incredible.
Though it took a while to get to monster action with Godzilla, Manda, Rodan and mothra all invading New York at once, it was an exciting film. Though the narrating sucked and the acting wasn't so great, it was good.
It definitely made the military look like idiots in the first monster scene when they are firing machine guns and missiles at the four monsters in New York. This movie should not be rated G, but pg-13 for monster violence. I advise you to see this film A.S.A.P.
One of the later entries into the Godzilla series, Toho studios were presumably running short of ideas and, like Universal years earlier (who did films with Frankenstein, Dracula and the Wolfman), had all of their monsters bought together to keep the fans happy.
In this entry, Earth is threatened by the Kilaaks, who from their Moonbase gain control of the monsters and send them against the world's major cities. Great fun with true comic book entertainment - no proper plot, characterisation etc. BUT a great story, action, and effects which may not be great from a technical point of view, but are visually stimulating all the same.
Film climaxes with the monsters defending the Earth against Ghidrah who gets battered - although Godzilla seems to have been watching too much W.W.F. and uses every dirty trick in the book.
