Destiny makes two brothers- Ranvir and Rajiv - enemies of each other. Everything is fair in love and war.
In Durban two brother Ronny (Ranvir) and Rajiv.Ronny runs a family business while Rajiv is a alcoholic who has grudge against Ronny and also planned to kill him which got failed. Ronny is ruthless businessman who destroys his rival Kabir when he offers him to buy his business which is in debt.Ronny is dating Sonia.But has his secretary Sophia secretly loving him. In a drunken state Rajiv confesses his to Rony about his love to Sonia where Rony steps behind.Rajiv knows about Sonia's past and plans Rony's murder with her which would be accidental death. As their father had secured their lives with a identical sum of $100 million insurance.Ronny is aware about Rajiv's plans and he and Sonia will kill Rajiv as per their plan.But Sonia ditches Rony over Rajiv killing him.The case is then assigned to Indian origin officer Robert D'Costa (RD) who finds many loopholes in the mystery.
I mean it ain't gonna win any awards but it definitely was an entertainer! The actors were good, especially, Akshaye......I almost always hate his acting but he was actually believable in his character.
The definite show-stealer was Samira Reddy chick, however......
.....As for the movie, well, its good in terms of storyline ...cinametography and direction, but, some of the stunts were completely crazy and made no sense. I mean, if YOU ARE GONNA COPY HOLLYWOODY ACTION SCENES THEN BLOODY INVEST IN SOME INFRASTRUCTURE! The actors were jumping from God knows what height 'grabing' thin air! Please Do Not do a half-baked job! Overall, if you could look past the technicalities, it's pretty enjoyable. Has good snappy and witty dialogues and pretty nice ending.....there you go, have fun watching it:)
Having watched the promos of this movie and being an Abbas - Mastan movie, I was expecting this to be a good thriller as "Baazigar", if not better.
Two step brothers, who can't stand loosing, have a business, dealing with Horse racing. They have a rival, Kabir. One day they loose an important race to him after which they find out that their jockey had received money from their rival to loose the race. The jockey is killed when a bomb explodes in his car. But then someone tries to kill the elder sibling, who survives an accident.Later, during a party, the elder brother introduces his girl friend to his younger brother, who, later after intoxicating himself with drinks, reveals to the elder that he wants to get to know the girl. But then suddenly, one night the elder brother commits suicide by falling of from a balcony from a high rise building.
Starring Saif Ali Khan, Bipasha Basu, Akshaye Khanna, Katrina Kaif, Anil Kapoor, Sameera Reddy and with special appearances by Dalip Tahil and Johnny Lever, "Race" lacks the pace of a good thriller, even though this has all the ingredients for it. There are certain points in this, which, in theory, do not make sense at all. Certainly, Bipasha Basu and Katrina Kaif do look "hot" but that does not make up for the lack of thriller ingredients and neither do the songs or the music. Saif Ali Khan's role is perhaps the only one that is worth watching, while the senior actor, Anil Kapoor's character needs to be desired. The only time when the audience to get a bit of relief is when Johnny Lever makes a brief appearance.
Conclusion: This has so many turns and twists and with this, if one is not able to concentrate, it spoils the broth.
The company, TIPs, who were involved in the release of this movie, had joined with the auction website, e - bay, by putting up ten CDs, signed by Saif Ali Khan and Katrina Kaif in order to boost the sales of the tickets, as the Box office takings on the opening weekend had showed to be slow. Makes one wonder if the distributors had any faith in this movie to do well!
