Rebel without a cause or a clue at an elite but uptight High School discovers some of his classmates have formed an even more elite clique more or less hell-bent on ridding the school, and quite possibly American society, of what they deem to be its undesirables because of ethnicity, politics, etc. Our hero recruits a teacher and some other "less desirable" classmates to undermine the elitists, and, naturally, things get quite violent. Those are among the words I'll describe this 1986 high school thriller! At an upper-city high school, there are a group of students who call themselves the Sentinels. They patrol the school of undesirables but have come under controversy that they're are elite vigilante group who borderline on fascism. The leader of the Sentinels is Randy who comes of as threatening as The Psychlos from Battlefield Earth. To get any negative word away from the group he takes a lower-class boy, Danny, under his wing. Danny comes off as emotionless and dull that he makes Bella Swan look expressive. The actor who played him was obviously coasting through his performance. His only friend is Krooger who comes off as annoying that he makes Jar Jar Binks from the Star Wars prequels look tolerable. Another character in the film is Julie who is Randy's girlfriends who falls for Danny. Julie's only purpose in the film is being fan-service. Not even Nomi from Showgirls shows off that much! As you can tell the characters are not even remotely interesting! They're poorly written and developed making them wishy-washy, ignorant, and one-dimensional! The direction isn't any better either! Being directed by Albert Pyun who makes Michael Bay and Uwe Boll look like Steven Spielberg and Tim Burton! And it's produced by Cannon films which ruined the Superman films with Superman 4: Quest For Peace! Any action scenes comes off under-whelming that it makes the action scenes from Batman & Robin look exhilarating! It's obvious that everyone making this film were going through the motions! It's not even so bad it's good the way The Room is! It's just unwatchable bad! If it were any worse it would be The Garbage Pail Kids Movie! Why did John Stockwell co-write this awful screenplay and play a villain (Unconvincingly)?!?! He makes Matthew Broderick's performance in Inspector Gadget look credible! Even if he didn't star as the villain, the film still would of sucked! No wonder why he's a director now! Everyone who made this film, especially John Stockwell, should be ashamed of making this crap! There are 0 memorable scenes to be found! There is one this that happens when it reaches the hour mark but that scene is so embarrassingly bad! It makes the wire hanger scene from Mommie Dearest look like it has dignity! Exorcist 2: The Heretic is more compelling than this trite! It may not be the worst film ever made but it's my most hated film ever! I hate it equally along with Family Guy and Justin Bieber! Nothing substantial in this dreck! It's just style over substance with the actors standing around like catalog models! I would never recommend this film to even rent once! I would only recommend this film to skip at all cost! You will not be entertained nor invested by this poor excuse for a film! There is nothing to be proud of in this film! People should be ashamed of themselves for saying anything positive about this film! This film sucks, plain and simple! BTW, this film should of been nominated for Razzie awards! I wish I didn't have to write 10 lines for inclusion on IMDb, because there isn't too much to say about this movie EXCEPT that I really liked it at the time - it is a good example of mid-80's style - and the actors are very good, some have more recently become well known: John Stockwell is a noted Director now ("Blue Crush"), and he was 'Cougar' in "Top Gun" the same year, 1986. Carey Lowell, Mrs. Richard Gere, went on to "Law & Order" after a role in a bad James Bond movie. So why no DVD??? It was on VHS in the late 80's. One thing I do remember at the time, when Siskel & Ebert reviewed it they noted a strange homo-erotic overtone in many scenes (like in the school gym's locker room). Of course, you could say that about the Top Gun locker room scenes, also. But they had a point, and I think one reason this movie did stand out from the run-of-the-mill Drive In fare was that director Albert Pyun gave it some of these inexplicable, strange tones. And there was one TERRIFIC pun half-way into the movie, but you'll have to watch it to find out for yourself... 646f9e108c
