It is up to Ravi (Nagarjuna) who has to rescue a flight from Chennnai to Delhi which is hijacked by Yousuf Khan 's men.
Flight No. SK 957, Star Jet bound for Delhi is set to take off from Chennai on a Monday morning. Terrorists in a team of five, disguised as passengers take over the Star jet flight, supposedly to effect the release of their leader, Yusuf Khan. The passengers' only hope is Major Ravindra from the National Security Guards who along with his team, Major Nawaz Khan and Major Menon, captured Yusuf Khan 2 years ago.
Story - It is a Hijack drama. What happens to hijacked passengers, are they rescued, forms the story.
Performances - The major strength of this movie is its casting. Nagarjuna is extremely good in this movie. He is charming and delivers an outstanding performance. Some scenes written for Nagarjuna where his role "Ravindra" displays his cool in tough times, are just mind-blowing. Prakash Raj nicely complements Nagarjuna. Brahmanandam's comedy is superb. Other actors like Chams, Manobala, Sana khan, Prdhvi raj, Ravi e.t.c are excellent in their respective roles. Special appreciation must be given to the guy who did the role of "Yusuf Khan".
Music - Background Score by A.R.Rahman's assistant Pravin Mani is nice, though not very gripping enough.
Other Department - Art work and Photography are excellent. Editing is also superb.
Story, Screenplay & Direction - There is no story. The premise is new to Telugu audience. Screenplay is racy. Direction is fantastic. These following threads are just superb - 1) Hero-Fan thread, 2) Terrorist-Child Thread. The scenes between Nagarjuna and Harshavardhan are extremely good.
Final Piece - If you like slick thrillers, this is the one for you. It will not be on a serious note. There is a lot of entertainment in this movie. Two persons must be appreciated - 1) Nagarjuna, for not not giving any damn to the commercial elements, 2) Prakash Raj, for producing such a nice movie.
WOW, I was so surprised by this film. When i saw the first look of the movie i expected it to be a regular Telugu movie, but i was dead wrong. A hijack drama is quite new to Telugu film industry. Radha Mohan has to be commended for his attempt. The screenplay was tight, it maintained the suspense through out the movie. The interval twist was bang on !!!.
Nagarjuna was awesome in the role of an NSG commando. He is known for romantic roles with at least 2 female leads and duet songs in the movie, but this movie is an entire contrast. No songs, No Romance, No lead actresses at all. The movie sticks to the point. Bharath also did a good job as the sub ordinate of Nagarjuna. There is no separate entertainment thread in the movie, all we have is suspense which goes till the end. Episodes involving Bramhanandam, Prudhvi and his obsessed fan are hilarious.
The last 10 min countdown climax is seriously brilliant, Editing was so good. Truly edge of the seat stuff. Nagarjuna & Radha Mohan should be commended for making such a good film. I expect these sort of movies in the future
