A group of friends run a popular travel vlog that helps fund their adventures. Paige (Gina Vitori), the leader of the group, includes her younger sister, Lindsey (Aubrey Reynolds), for the next scuba diving trip to an isolated cove. Silly plot, pitiful, yet fun, special effects. Terrible acting. But a fun enough way to spend a couple rainy Saturday afternoon hours...
Every year we look forward to Sharknado and it leads up to the debut with wonderfully awful and sometimes just awful Shark movies. I read the titles for this years lineup and couldn't wait when you see titles like Santa Jaws and 6 Headed Shark attack you know what you are getting. This movie broke those rules and took a real and serious depiction. When a group of on line thrill seeking young adults crash into the ocean they need to fight for survival against sharks. One of the things these shark movies have in common is the very terrible CGI that they use. This movie was very well done with the footage, much better than you expect from the Syfy channel. It was fast and furious and in some ways channeled the desperate desire to survive like Blake Lively in The Shallows. It's no surprise that the characters get picked off 1 at a time, it's to be expected in these situations. I found myself very surprisingly liking this movie a lot.
