Rayford Steele is an airline pilot whose relationship with his wife has gone sour;he ponders having an affair with an attractive flight attendant, Hattie Durham. In the midst of a flight to London, a number of their passengers mysteriously disappear, and chaos takes hold as a number of vehicles on the ground and in the air are suddenly unmanned. Meanwhile, Buck Williams, a television journalist, is pondering the rash of sudden disappearances as he works on a report about Dr. Chaim Rosenzweig, an Israeli scientist who has devised a formula that would make any soil on earth easy to cultivate. However, Buck wonders if there's more to Rosenzweig than he first imagined when he discovers the doctor is in cahoots with two multi-millionaires who plan to broker the invention to promote their own agenda of international domination. The Biblical prophecy of Armegeddon begins when the Rapture instantly takes all believers in Christ from the Earth. A reporter left behind learns that the Anti-Christ will soon take power. This is a must-see movie! The screenplay is extremely well done, even though they had to take a book and condense it into a 2 hour movie. The actors they selected for each part were great and did such an excellent job at portraying their character. Very believable movie that makes you wonder "What if....?" I was so excited to see the first of my FAVORITE book series in movie form. This is one of those movies where, if you haven't read the book first, you will want to after seeing the movie. You just get sucked into the story and MUST know what comes next! (And for those of you who don't know......You ain't seen nothin' yet!!) I can't wait for the next one to come out!!!!!!!! Thrilling, but a flakey premise. Alien abduction (is there a connection?) would be easier to take. At least it didn't seem quite as preachy as earlier efforts. So what is it?, Sci-Fi, or what? An answer looking for a question? No, people, the future it NOT clear! Might be extremely effective while preaching to the converted, but it's no great shakes as secular entertainment. 646f9e108c
