Toxie finds he has nothing to do as a superhero, as he has ridden his city of evil. He decides to go to work for a major corporation, which he discovers may be the evilest of all his adversaries.
Picking up immediately after where 'Toxic Avenger Part 2' left off, after getting Apocolypse Inc. out of town, Toxie has nothing to do. He tries to get a job, but fails as a normal job is no place for a creature of superhuman size and strength. Until on day, Toxie is told that his blind girlfriend Claire, has a chance to see again, but it costs a lot of money. Then Toxie gets the opportunity to work as a spokesman for his enemy Apocolypse Inc. He says "yes" so he can get money for Claire. Not knowing what he was doing, Apocolypse Inc. takes over Tromaville and makes everyone slaves to work for them. After Claire's surgery, she opens up Toxie's eyes and he has too battle with The Devil himself so there will be a better future and a room for Toxic Avenger Part 4.
THE TOXIC AVENGER PART III: THE LAST TEMPTATION OF TOXIE is the third in the long-running Troma series of trash movies about the mutant hero. I still get a kick out of remembering the kid's TV show TOXIC CRUSADERS that I used to watch which was based on these very adult movies.
I suppose you know what you're getting with a film like this: lots of inanity, silly special effects, and outrageous gore sequences, with a bare plot to hold it all together. An early massacre scene in a video store of all places is one of the best moments but it's all downhill from that point in. The story, if you can call it that, sees Toxie lured to the dark side to work for an evil corporation, and you can guess what happens.
If you're a fan of Troma's own special brand of rubbery fun then you might enjoy this film, but I imagine most film fans will be hard pressed to find anything to like about it. The overacting really is difficult to watch at times and the constant assault on the senses is somewhat overwhelming. Still, some of the silly humour works at times, so it's not all bad.
TA 1 was a great movie. TA 2 and TA 3 were bad, even for fans of the Troma genre. Not enough stupid gory action and too many bad jokes and unfunny idiocy. From now on, I'm only watching TA 1 ever again. A serious let down by Troma. We need more gore, more action, more nudity, and less intentional comedy. TA 2 and TA 3 prove that it's not exactly easy to make a movie so bad it's good. Troma was trying too hard on 2 & 3 and they're just not the same as the excellent TA 1. Troma should attempt to make a serious horror movie. Their attempted comedy just isn't working. If they attempt something serious, I'm sure it will be entertaining and hilarious. Better luck to the great Troma studio.
Only for hardcore Troma fans and even most of them don't like it. 3/10
The German DVD cover reads "Full Uncut - Longest Version Worldwide" and that is to be taken literally. The German DVD contains an additional scene with Toxie and Claire who is pleased with her newly aquired sight. The UK Blu-ray by 88 Films contains an alternate cut. According to 88 Films, the master came directly from the US and no further alterations have been made. It is possible that this is the uncut R-Rated version of the movie. 646f9e108c
