Intergalatic bounty hunter Samus Aran has been hired by the Galactic Federation to solve the mystery of what happened to a group of Federation Marines, all of whom vanished on the planet Aether. When Samus arrives, she finds every one of the Marines dead, apparently slain by powerful, shadowy creatures-but in the middle of her investigation, she sees a figure that seems to be... herself, in a dark suit. Samus follows her double into a portal that leads to a world filled with the same shadowy creatures that the Marines' logs hinted at. Samus eventually learns of the evil that surrounds the planet. It would appear that a meteor carrying Phazon, the mutagenic compound that the Space Pirates were using on Tallon IV, struck the planet, creating a Dark Aether where an evil race known as the Ing were born. The Luminoth, wise creatures that lived on Light Aether, warred with the creatures, but they are being destroyed due to the Ing's theft of their own planetary energies. The Luminoth beg Samus for her help in restoring the energy and destroying the darkness for ever. Samus agrees...and a new adventure begins! Sent to assist a Galactic Federation squadron stranded on the planet Aether, Samus Aran is thrust into an all-but-lost war between the dying Luminoth race and the umbral demons known as the Ing, on a world torn between light and darkness. This is what all video games should try to live up to. The graphics are great, the plot is great. The whole thing is just great. The only game better than it would probably be the original Mario game. The game is easy to use but fun for anybody, except small children. The "Ing" would probably scare them. If they come out with a sequel to this game, then i would by it just based off of this one. Some places in it are challenging, but nothing you can't handle if you are a fan of the series. The game comes shines when it comes to multi-player ability, as well as the single player mode. This is the best game out for anything! BUY THIS GAME! When you enter Metroid Prime, you are aboard a wonderous, majestic yet somewhat creepy space station. As you move on, it becomes an epic. With Metroid Prime 2, things are different. The atmosphere you enter is very dark and frightening. As the game picks up, it moves away from this into and adventure game. Sadly, it does not measure up to its predecessor.

In Metroid Prime 2 you are in a fearsome battle against the Ind, Dark Samus, and the Space Pirates. Metroids? Where Metroid Prime had plenty of Metroids, this game provides very few.

In this game, your mission is to restore energy to the temples on Aether but going into the dark dimension and take the energy transport module after battling a guardian. For the most part, the game is pretty good, but the dark world is just stupid.

There are many annoying creatures that you fight repeatedly. The Space Pirates are now very easy to defeat. Their base is very different, and easy to get through. This makes for a disappointment for the space Pirates.

So why is the game good? Well, it porvides some more action than the original. It also contains some of the coolest boss fights (Amorbis, Quadraxis, Dark Samus 3rd form). The coolest video game track invented is Quadraxis. It also has some cool places, with sanctuary Fortress coming in first, followed by Torvus Bog, Temple Grounds, and last- Agon Wastes (which did go to waste.) Overall, it's a good way to entertain yourself and creates a great story, so it's definitely worht the look. In terms of chronology, Metroid Prime 2: Echoes is the fourth game in the Metroid saga. It is chronologically preceded by Metroid (Zero Mission), Metroid Prime and Metroid Prime Hunters. It is followed by Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, Metroid II: Return of Samus, Super Metroid, Metroid: Other M and Metroid Fusion. In the beginning of the game, one of the Luminoth Lore data files (History - Golden Age - Origins) describes how the Luminoth travelled through the Galaxy and came into contact with several enlightened species, amongst others the Chozo. In the instruction booklet of Metroid Prime, it was told that the Chozo shared their technology freely with several other less-developed species. So the most logical explanation would be that part of Luminoth technology is derived from or strongly inspired by Chozo technology, and therefore compatible with Samus' Chozo technology.

What could make this theory sound more plausible may be a further understanding of how Samus' suit works. The ending of Metroid Prime 2: Echoes already explicitly showed that the suit is not a traditional armor that needs to be disassembled manually: its solid parts can materialize in and out of existence. From Metroid Fusion, Metroid: Zero Mission and Metroid: Other M it became clear that the blue Zero Suit that Samus wears beneath the metal is the interface that Samus uses to activate the solid exterior armor; it is strongly affected by Samus' emotional state (the metal can glitch under duress), and vice versa, when the armor takes hits, it also affects Samus since she reacts in pain. So this may mean that every suit upgrade, even though often represented by an object, is, in fact, data that the Zero Suit can read, interpret and integrate into the armor. Think of it as software that is uploaded into the suit, so it can be modified to produce new functions. It isn't too far-fetched to assume that Luminoth data is either compatible with Chozo hardware, or that the suit can translate the data to make use of its upgrades. Aether is described as a planet with unstable planetary energy. This is probably what causes the 'atmospheric interference' mentioned by one of the Marine Troopers, and what caused the Marine's and Samus' ships to malfunction.

Perhaps the combination of this atmospheric anomaly and the semi-sentient nature of the Phazon in the object are responsible for the disappearance of the stellar object/meteorite that hit Aether, and the creation of Dark Aether. An impacting meteorite has tremendous amounts of kinetic energy. Maybe the mass and energy of the object were (partially) absorbed by the atmosphere; this provided the energy for the dimensional schism that duplicated Aether and created a twin world. The twisted nature of the Phazon present in the meteorite probably caused this planet to be Phazon-based, which would acount for the dark nature of this twin world, and the creation of the Ing. A same sort of thing happened when Samus defeated the Metroid Prime in Metroid Prime; the Phazon blob sampled her and her suit and created a Phazon-based (thus 'dark') copy. The Metroid Prime was the creature causing the spill of Phazon on Tallon 4, and was killed by Samus at the end of the first game. The ending video showed the dying Metroid melting, and the remaining blob clinging at Samus, ripping away her Phazon suit. However, for those who achieved a 100% item retrieval in the game, there was another scene after the credits, showing the pulsating blob of Phazon, the liquid essence of the Metroid Prime. From the blob emerged a hand with an eye on it. This hand belonged to Dark Samus, who made her first full appearance in Metroid Prime 2: Echoes. The Metroid Prime obviously mimicked Samus, using the Phazon suit as a mold. So Dark Samus is essentially the Metroid Prime in this game, and she also returns in Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. The ending you get after finishing the game depends on the amount of hidden items you have collected during the game.

When you have found less than 75% of all the items:Dark Samus staggers towards Samus, tries to touch her suit, but dematerializes into small blue particles. Samus gets surrounded by a group of Warrior Ing. A giant wall of Phazon shatters from an earthquake, revealing an inactive Light Portal. Samus jumps away from the attacking Ing, activates the portal with her Visor and jumps into it in Morph Ball mode. She comes out from a Dark Portal on Light Aether, and the Portal collapses, taking several Ing trying to escape their dying world with it. A shot of the planet Aether shows the purple glow vanishing from the planet's surface. Several Luminoth are gathered around when Samus appears from a bundle of light in her Varia Suit as the energy controller closes behind her. They make a solemn bow to her as she walks away, waving goodbye. Her ship then takes off and flies away into hyperspace. The credits start rolling, and afterwards, there is a screen showing log entry and item collection percentages.

When you have found between 75 and 99% of all the items: 646f9e108c
