Once upon a time, there was a kingdom of fairy tales called "Märchenland", where many fairy tale characters live together in joy. Suddenly, the evil emperor Pierrot made an invasion on Märchenland, sealing its Queen in the process. To revive the Queen, the symbol of happiness called Cure Decor, "the Queen's scattered power of light of happiness", is required. To collect the Cure Decor, a fairy named Candy searches for the Pretty Cures on Earth. There, Candy meets a girl, who decides to collect the Cure Decor. Now, will the world earn a "happy ending"? Saban's version, Glitter Force, follows five preteen girls, Emily (Glitter Lucky), Kelsey (Glitter Sunny), Lily (Glitter Peace), April (Glitter Spring) and Chloe (Glitter Breeze), who learn that they are a legendary superhero squad known as the Glitter Force and must defend Earth from evil fairytale villains. As a part of the Glitter Force, these fabulous friends transform from ordinary school girls into super powered cool girls. Defending the earth isn't an easy job, but the Glitter Force proves that nothing is more powerful than friendship! The summary explains it all. Cute characters, mild violence, this show contains anything a dubbing anime addict would want. The plot line basically goes along with a mysterious pixie-type creature named Candy from a place named Jubiland. She recruits another girl, named Emily, into a club named Glitter Force. This club slowly draws new members, while at the same time having to battle evil creatures who want to use the unhappiness of the world to summon their leader. I recommend this to 8-12 year olds, or even 7 if you believe your child is able to tolerate the dark-ish themes that surround the show. As I said, this is a great start for the young anime fan. Only problem is that this show is a Netflix exclusive, but this shouldn't be too much of a problem. For a good after school show this is the one for girls. A unique blend of friendship, and how the bonds develop between five girls who became legendary warriors to help a place called Marchenland. It is because of one cute fairy named Candy, who is the daughter of the Royal Queen of this land that lands on earth and literally bumps into the leader of the five, Miyuki Hoshizora. Together they look for the other four warriors, but as coincidence and a bit of luck has it, her friends are in her school. Now as each one connects to Miyuki by a small pact device, they can transform into the warriors to defend against three others, Majorina, the red demon, and the blue fox. One by one, they pit against the smile girls for retribution because of how people view them in the fairy books as just evil beings. Bent on revenge, they help a devious god named Pierrot, a creature born out of despair and misery that people harbour daily in their hearts. But the girls have a time table before Pierrot is reborn to try and destroy the world. In the middle of the fight is candy's brother Pop. A fairy being who helps the girls now and then as he oversees Marchenland to keep it safe from Pierrot's reach. Yet as happenstance sometimes walks in, the girls try to overcome the hardships of failure, as well as losing to the darkness. Through every battle, Miyuki, Akane, Yayoi, Nao and Reika somehow pushes back the malice which tries to rip away humanity. In every way this is a great example of how people can help one another in such troubling times. It has great music, fight scenes, a bonding of friends, and how each one copes with the daily life they have to face on their own or as the Legendary five warriors. It is in my opinion that this is a wonderful display of how friends should be, with no bars in the way of dreams, hopes, and wishes people want. Highly recommended for everyone, both adults and kids alike. Oh and one more thing, you will definitely cry on the last episode, much like other anime which has good tear jerking scenes, this one pales the earlier shows, make sure you have a good supply of tissues. 646f9e108c
