In a seemingly quiet town a mysterious meteor shower produces a sinister green meteorite that seems to have a dangerous effect on the dogs that who once were the kind well-behaved dogs we once knew turn into vicious killers and the residents are forced to engage in a battle of man vs beast as man's best friend turns into their worst enemy and one teenage girl named Roslyn has to fight her way through the vicious canines accompanied by her faithful dog shemp they must find a way to survive against the dogs they once called man's best friend
The idea is very Stephen King like, it could work for a no brainer, but the execution, it goes beyond that horrible limit, and just like in Even Horizon, it comes back with all that badness it saw there.
You will see people getting killed by small dogs, you will also see main actors escaping 3 big dogs even after they were put to the ground, you will see characters so connected to their dogs that they will embrace death instead of getting some distance, and you will see some of the better animal attacks on film. In all fairness, The breed or The pack showed little dog attacks, these one using some CGI from time to time, does provide a better view.
The movie has a couple of good old school actors, the main one does her job lovely, and keeping in mind that it is a syfy channel production, I think it got the most of its idea.
I think it's a fair 4 stars, considering all that I mentioned. Seems about right.

with as many stupid characters and worst writing this was a must watch to see how awful it would become. Virtually all of the characters in this movie should die and fall victim to natural selection weeding out inferior species and animals. Rooting for all of these idiots to die became my ultimate priority. If movie makers can't do better than this they should quit making movies, I must write ten lines to make it printable, are they serious????? with as many stupid characters and worst writing this was a must watch to see how awful it would become.
