Bravo 2 are back, and are wanting to go home more than ever.
Bravo 2 finds themselves back in the action again, this time they are after a device that was used back in WWII. They don't have any idea about the device, and are soon contacted by Special Operations Division. Things start to take a turn for the worse when the weapon falls into the wrong hands; if Bravo 2 don't find the device soon, their home will be a pile of bricks.
I heard people saying that this was better than Modern Warfare 2 and certainly in some regards they are correct. A novel in gaming is that with explosives and armoured vehicles you can partially (and eventually) destroy part or all of a building. I'm sure this will catch on with newer games. The game though does suffer some major flaws in an attempt to be better than MW2.
Whilst in MW2 on Team Death Match people can be selfish and be rewarded for it, Battlefield rewards you for working as a team. But unless you're all friends in the team and have headsets on, there's no way you can. The result is that by not working as a team it will be very hard to get any points and therefore progress through the ranks will be very slow. In effect, you're team mates can be selfish and you get punished for it - I'll explain a bit more later.
At the start of the multiplayer you get to choose either of four roles; assault, medic, engineer or recon. As you progress these classes can be upgraded. To do well points-wise you must do that role. e.g. engineer must repair team vehicles, destroy enemy vehicles. So here's three more flaws of the game. 1. You can't do that role until the next rank, which means getting absolutely slaughtered. 2. If you're in a map where there are no vehicles then getting points will be very difficult apart from killing people. 3. The guns you start off with are sh!te. Don't be surprised if you only get one kill and 13 deaths.
There are only 5 online maps, which means boredom sets in quite quickly. The matchmaking is very poor. Expect as a nubie to be put into games of very high rankers who have much better guns with 3 or 4 times the range (note snipers are very overpowered).
In short, this game is good with some very good concepts but doesn't reward new players quick enough, and too many will be put off by the shear overpowering experienced players. But perhaps this game gives you a more realistic feel of warfare than MW2 does, and you will have to play differently.
7/10 is the highest though I've given a game even though I kept it for only two weeks before trading in. The singe player mode is actually good but often you have to die before it tells you what you need to do.
DICE's game Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is an intense modern warfare FPS shooter game that is mainly based on online play. Bad company 2 relies on vehicular game-play, massive sandbox multi-player and single-player maps and destruction.
Bad company 2 (and the first one) is powered by DICE's frostbite engine which allows for tactical destruction. In the first bad company a man could blow a hole in a wall, crumbling cover or making new paths. Bad company 2 makes its destruction even better, by making its destruction even smaller and larger. Multiple shots at a wall will make small chunks of the wall chip off, this is probably the most impressive new destruction system in the new bad company 2. You can also have the ability to take down whole buildings, unfortunately, each building collapses are not dynamic, and therefore the animation of the building collapsing is the exact same for every building for the same type.
The campaign of bad company 2 could use some improvement, instead of the sandbox style campaign in the first bad company DICE has chosen to make the campaign to be a one way campaign. Although this is good for a first time play it is severely lacking in replay novelty. The storyline also could use some improvement, the storyline is not original, so it may be a good storyline you may find it to be quite familiar. There is also a whole between bad company 1 and bad company 2 campaigns, this leaves some unanswered questions.
Multiplayer is quite balanced and is very entertaining. There are 4 kits which are quite customizable. the game-play is very entertaining, and you don't necessarily have to kill anyone else to get points, for example if your a medic, you can heal people, which will give you quite a lot o points, this really rewards teamwork. Bad company 2 relies on team work, which can be very frustrating if your team isn't playing the game seriously. also the range and realistic ballistics of this game assures for no "spraying" (shooting from the hip without aiming) as bullets do drop down due to gravity and people who "spray" will find themselves losing.
In conclusion bad company 2 is a refreshing, balanced and competitive game, it could use some improvement in the campaign and there are some small frustrations that can lead you to become very frustrated. Frustration aside this game is an amazing game that is a must buy for war FPS lovers,
